REALLY nicely done! Please explain how you accomplished the enemy ship explosion - Carrara's Explode modifier? Also, did you utilize Carrara's RPF export for use in AE? Love the Toon look.
My only tiny critique is regarding the voice acting - if you take this up a notch this film could even more. This wouldn't be that difficult to re-do either, the hard part is finding good voiceover artists / actors.
Yes, we used the explode modifier with gravity set to 0. We also enhanced the output with particle effects from particle illusion. We didn't use RPF export; we rendered in multiple passes for foreground and background elements. We used "sequenced photoshop" for the foreground output to ensure an alpha channel.
