isn't your knees tracking so far past your toes supposed to be bad for your knees? im just curious because i have long femurs and my knees tend to do the same on front squats
@whiteflightbrotha generally on front squats your knees will track a bit further over you toes. This is because you need to maintain a straighter back to keep the weight over your mid foot, and your knees have to move out further to allow depth.
@whiteflightbrotha ~ no it is not bad for you knees , unless your knees are already compromised or you have weak supporting muscles. the knees not past your toes rule is taught by personal trainers to beginners that lack muscle and technique. obeying the "rule" a novice will less likely hurt themselves.
karl1569 when you catch the bar and get your fingers under it the should be resting on your chest. Your fingers shouldnt be bearing any weight they should just be under the bar.
I cannot get my arms parralel (spelling) no matter what I do. Is there a way to practice it or stretch them out? I always catch the bar with my elbows down. I catch it in my fingers but it makes my wrists feel like they are tearing off. You seem to know what you're doing so any suggestions would be much appreciated.
when i first started doing power cleans, i had a spotter/partner standing in front of me so whenever i would finish a clean, my partner would kind of stretch my elbow upwards. it helped me a lot.
Being a body builder I used to think it was because my biceps were too big. That's not the reason. You just need to stretch everyday . After a few months you will be able to have parallel arms during the front squat . That is unless you have more than 20 inch guns!!!!
how do you get your wrists to not hurt? when im on 160 my wrists feel like they are gonna snap off, and im resting the bar on my shoulders practically suffocating myself.
Hey bro great lifting and i really like ur vids..can i ask some advice??My front squat is absolutely stuck at 140kg for a single and i can't go above that..what's a good rep/weight routine for breaking that barrier? So far i just do whatever i feel like but now i'm totally stuck at the weight..I'd appreciate any tips.
his knees are not buckling in, omfg41. You pushes them out very wide, so obviously the knees need to come back in to stand up. Why don't you first know WTF you are talking about before criticizing someone doing something you could never do.
Very impressive! And a great by-the-book miss in the end! Liked and faved :)
