  • MI6 agent chief and a Hogwart's professor? Seems like an unstoppable bunch.

  • I love it when Maggie says something witty and Judy would crack up.

  • Leonard Lopate is a little too interested in hearing himself. He always railroads a good potential answer so he can chime in on it somehow and show that he's on top of it. He can be incredibly tedious. Regular noon-to-two daily show on WNYC -- one tunes in to hear the guests and hopes he doesn't stampede the guest too much.

He has a deeply more talented brother, Philip, a very good writer. I think he's compensating for it.

  • @FeDe4 i agree.

  • What a tedious interview! Dame Maggie and Judi were gracious and tried to make the best of it.

  • Love them

  • I stand in awe of these two fantastic actresses and great women! Just saw "Tea with Mussolini" and HAD to come and look stuff up here. :-)

  • Come on guys - he does as good interview. Don't rubbish everyone on YouTube.

  • The two most exemplary actress, both stage and screen, of the last 50+ years. Both are so versatile and everything they do is a gem. I wish Dame Maggie would do more interviews . . . .

  • I can't believe he cut Dame Maggie off at 7:56! Ironic he's talking about directors who don't interact with their actors.

  • Judi Dench and Maggie Smith are adorable! I am 15 years old an from Germany, and actually I really do know and love them! And I have no doubt that these two and Helen Mirren belong to the greatest actresses all time! and they are so down to earth and beautiful!

  • This two women... Maybe the two most talented actresses of our generation. Legends.

  • What a luxury to have both the greatest living actresses in one show shame

the interwiewer is not better prepared.

  • i gotta say while the interviewer is not all that hot, i would be pretty intimidated interviewing these two!!!

  • This is great stuff; thanks for posting this!

  • What is this Pic at :022 from? I love it, but can't find it

  • I think it was from Time Magazine.... helped?

  • @tucho1966 Calendar Girls

  • @charlieiscool1000 Gosh he's horrible, won't be quiet so they can talk when everybody wants to hear them not him.

  • 1:33 NOOOO hahahaha

  • B-I-G fan of both talented actresses!!

LOVE this video and THANK YOU:D

  • At least they can act, they are not playing themselves like most American actors do today, they just play themselves.

  • This is the best interview ever! If i had to choose a voice would it be Maggie, Judi or Leonard??

They are obviously all enjoying themsevles!

  • Maggie!

  • hahha, wot a terrible interviewer.

  • hahahaha i love how maggie shoots him down in the first question

  • Lovely listening to Maggie and Judi; the interviewer is rubbish though. Instead of latching onto their answers, and getting them to expand their responses he moves onto a totally different question all the time.

The interview doesn't flow very well.

  • I'm glad you agree!

  • A new DVD entitled Maggie Smith at the BBC has recently been released, which sounds great. Unfortunately the release seems to have been marred by idiocies: 1.) It's not available in the UK (even though Maggie is British) and it omits the BBC production of Memento Mori, in which is contained one of Maggie's "funniest performances" according to her biographer. Insane.

I couldn't agree more with you. I was amazed with this BBC special set but, alas, it's only released in America: a total idiocy!

  • I bought that Maggie Smith thing at Costco in America, The only time that I was happy to live here. I really do think it should be in the UK. That's stupid.

  • It's weird why it's not available in the UK when BBC is british.

  • aw maggie sounds so down to earth :) xx

  • 0:15, Charles Dance and Maggie Smith. Where does this picture come from? 'Ladies in lavender' set maybe?

  • This is so interesting! I love them both but haven't seen much of either one. I love the photos, especially the one with Helen Mirren! :)

  • I love this, thank you:) They are so wonderful and charming!

  • oh thats funny i love maggie and judi my favs and maggie i wish u all the best
