The gun is permantly in there but its been "disconnected" from the electronics so it's unusable in any way. It'd cost way to much to take it out and it'd take away from its imposing character when it flies at airshows.

Militar: AH-1 Cobra

Civilian: Bell 209

Thei are the same helo, but AH-1 has an arsenal, Bell 209 don´t.

well you can buy anything you want? I know at least 4 people who have cobra helicopters in their own house in California and Texas, they bought it from the government(USAF), and guess what? I know people who have F-4 phantoms, F-14 and they keep it in the airfield they fly it anytime they want anywhere they want, but they can not have any type of weapon on them, just flying.you can do whatever you want as long as you pay the tax

That's an F model cobra. it's got an air data sensor on the right side of the canopy.

That was a data collector for the fire control computer.  it's got other uses though.

This helo is defo a Cobra, but an old demilitarised version.

You're very close. It is called the "North Hollywood shootout." Their body armor would not stand up to their own weapons (jacketed rifle rounds). The police cannot use FMJ rounds due to concerns with over-penetration. They have to use frangible ammo. The cops had no chance against those two guys.
