I have to disagree with the voice-over guy though, there was no way in hell that he was doing 205mph. Racers don't race that fast, especially not around the 90 degree bend that you see just before his engine blows. My estimate is about 130mph. Still more than fast enough for a crash like that!

I hate to disagree, I also mean no disrespect but I can not believe he was doing 205mph there, no way. His engine blew after the main bend, when he was on the throttle. He hadn't really gotten on it as he was JUST out of the corner, so he won't have been going much faster than cornering speed. The crash was at Assen (in 2002) and the fastest corner on that track is about 130mph, (2 corners before that one- the crash was on the last corner). My guess for hitting the wall is 80-90mph.
