So instead of visualizing the "things" I want, I'm going to visualize me looking into a fancy mirror, with a smile on my face, and a tan from all the vacationing :-)

I think this might be more powerful than visualizing individual things.

@thegame2187 The reason you are getting confused is because the law of attraction is bunkum. It's not real, there's no easy way to get what you want, you have to get up and work for it. That's life, if the secret was the real deal then the world would be full of millionaires, no-one would be poor. As it is the only person that the book is 'printing money' for are the publishers.

@thegame2187 focus on what you want and not what you do not want - do the work you need to do to get what you want. If you want to be thinner, how do you get there? Imagine yourself being thin rather than seeing yourself being fat. If you want to have more money in your life, clarify that for yourself. How much money? How will you get there? Visualize yourself having it. And then do the work. I think what a lot of people forget is the "doing the work" part. You have to work.

my understanding of "The Secret" is this: 1) reflect on the fact that mankind is dissatisfied, unfulfilled and desperate for that one magic thing that "will make their lives perfect", be it looks, health, love, wealth etc...2) recognise that these people will pay good money for for ANYTHING which may offer them the chance to get what they want 3) concieve and market some bullshit product/service/ideology to meet the demand 4) watch the cash pour in as you make millions from ppls desparation...

With LOA they say think about, feel, experience what you want. Get in the vortex. If, for example, you want to win a contest and the contest has a prize of $1500 per month for 6 months, and you visualize winning, you do all the steps. Then you find out that prize was given away, but there is some other contest that is giving $7000 are you giving up all the energy you focused on the first thing? Are you starting over or does that energy transfer to the new thing?

Does hit actually help? I believe in LOA, but the book "The Secret" has bad reviews on amazon, however some others on Youtube say it works. So I bought both "The Secret" & "The Secret daily teachings". However... On the reviews people are saying it didn't work for them, and they were extremely disappointed. @TheAikidoBush It didn't work for them i believe because they read the bad reviews and just wanted to see if it would work...rather than believing it would work...LOA works by your emotions and thoughts...think positive and feel good...you'll get what you want...but it doesn't come straight away...it takes time...some just expect it there and then...and get expect and put down the idea. Trust me...go with it, be thankful, be happy and don't focus on negative and you'll see the benefits.

@TheAikidoBush I think it's a bit of both. The Secret is very mainstream, so some have had success with it and others have felt duped. I personally don't like The Secret, but there are many other books that deal with the LOA. Some are very well-explained and make a lot of sense. I think the Secret is just too superficial and only covers the surface. Hope that helps : )
