This song always reminds me of the small towns back in Wisconsin, especially places such as Edgerton, where my grandparents had small cottage till my grandma passed. People always seem to be friendlier, versus where Im at now in Metro-Phoenix AZ. Wish I could see Anderson perform live once.

@catlin2010 Me too. I thought city life was for me but HELL NO! I miss the 1200 person small town compared to a 200,000 person city...it sucks a lot! People are more rude, money hungry in the big city. They never seem to just enjoy life. I WILL live in a small town again!

My father had the pleasure of meeting Mr Anderson but in a sad circumstance when he was going under for surgery after a massive heart attack back in like 2001 or so in Charleston, W.V. my father worked at the hospital CAMC at that time and prepared him for his surgery, but Mr.Anderson was as my dad said a very down to earth man. love his music.

Coming from Roswell, GA...I found Bottineau, ND the most incredible place I've ever been! It was funny...before the kids there could even attempt to get into trouble...their parents already knew! Rumor control is a BITCH in those small towns. I had a false one circulating about me, and it took about 1 1/2 years to put it to rest. But to me, ND is the safest place to raise a kid...plus, they'll get the best education in the nation! Check it out, and you'll believe!

I'm going to see John in Augusta on Oct 1st and I'm going to have me a sign that says PLAY SMALL TOWN and get right in the front of the stage where he has to see me. Went to see him in Statesboro, GA last year and he didn't play it and I was a little disappointed but not a whole lot cause everything he sang was GREAT!
