@expo1403 Running from the cops it self isn't a felony, if they instruct you to pull over in any manner and you don't stop it's called resisting arrest, than they have every right to check your person, your car and get you on further charges. You could get as much as 90 days in jail for running from the cops and as little as 24 hours. depending on what you did.
There are no longer pit manveuvers. They are called T.V.I.'s now. Pit you would actually hit the other vehicle with the bumper. T.V.I. you just push with the bumper.
I don't think he had any dope. He was originally stopped for no front plate, which in Iowa all motor vehicles are required to have a front plate. if you listen to the radio then you can hear it. I went on a ride along and was in a chase and could barley here the siren because those crown vics are not quiet at high speeds
because of the fact that the p71 police interceptor crown vic has stiffer suspension and speed rated tires, they will be louder at high speeds. I could barley hear the siren in the cop car i was in during the chase i rode in.
That and you can see on-screen M2 (mic #2) is activated. For those of you not in law enforcement, it's a hidden mic above the back seat which is only activated by ambient noises (i.e.- suspect saying "i hope he doesnt find my stash in the glovebox", or, in this case, high speeds and the mic being right over the drivetrain).

@expo1403 Running from the cops it self isn't a felony, if they instruct you to pull over in any manner and you don't stop it's called resisting arrest, than they have every right to check your person, your car and get you on further charges. You could get as much as 90 days in jail for running from the cops and as little as 24 hours. depending on what you did.

I don't think he had any dope. He was originally stopped for no front plate, which in Iowa all motor vehicles are required to have a front plate. And he was being pulled over for overly tinted windows which is illegal in some Iowa towns. He is just another fool running from the law over something stupid.

it's better to stop and face the consequences, i would know. a high speed chase isn't worth it, even if you got drugs or open liquour aboard. one mistake can kill you, and if you don't get killed, you get thrown in jail, so just stop.

I am glad the police chased this person down. I80 has been a drug trafficker's freeway for entirely too long.
And for the record, at about West Branch, I was passed by this high speed chase, and while I could have been injured, I am happy that our police forces took him down. That's what he gets for running. It's too bad he didn't get hurt for the danger he put others in.

That is pretty narrow-minded. Given that a huge percentage of chases end in a crash, sometimes catching the guy later (probably) is better than risking the lives of everyone on the road. That is why major cities such as Baltimore now have no-pursuit laws. To protect the innocent public.

In my country we talk with the police like we're buddies... and there's no problem at all, even if they fine us in the end (sometimes they don't) But you guys have some scared ass pussy cops and they rather yell at you or shoot you instead being human.

@sumofnone3 mostly good points but you have to keep in mind that drug problems are a product of the laws, not the other way around. If drugs weren't illegal, then drug runners wouldn't have a job.

Problem with police chases is that is kills innocent people. Save a family, and let him go, and catch him another day. America's policy of war against its own people is doing no one any good. America is pretty much a joke to much of the world, and much of the world is producing drugs for American markets...

if you listen to the radio then you can hear it. I went on a ride along and was in a chase and could barley here the siren because those crown vics are not quiet at high speeds

because of the fact that the p71 police interceptor crown vic has stiffer suspension and speed rated tires, they will be louder at high speeds. I could barley hear the siren in the cop car i was in during the chase i rode in.

That and you can see on-screen M2 (mic #2) is activated. For those of you not in law enforcement, it's a hidden mic above the back seat which is only activated by ambient noises (i.e.- suspect saying "i hope he doesnt find my stash in the glovebox", or, in this case, high speeds and the mic being right over the drivetrain).

People who don't pay attention to what's going on around them usually get in trouble when something like this goes down. And about your comment on narcotics; I agree with you on that one because departments could use money in times like this. And im not a fat "slobbering tire", I do work out.
