  • I just bought a grip for my Canon 550D. And when i put new regular batteries it says ''Change the Battery'' .. And shows a low battery sign..

  • Thanks for the review man, I am going to buy one of the aftermarket ones now, and I already have 2 lp-e8 batteries, but I will probably get another 2. I have subscribed

    - Red Spectrum Pictures

  • 69$ o.o ? bitch please , i'm getting this

  • i got this one and its fucking good

  • This will probably be my next purchase.

  • 7:35 I see you

  • I got mine on Amazon for $37 free shipping

  • @AddictedToTrance123 how do u like it

  • If you use deet bug repelant when using these after market grips, expect them to melt in your hands. Mine did.

  • I got mine on ebay for $31 free shipping and i love it...

  • I bought my Canon BG-E8 for CAD $89 including shipping from Ebay.

  • You don't need two batteries to use the grip.

  • Can you use the aftermarket batterygrip with one LP-E8 battery inside?

  • I'd say buy an aftermarket grip to save money, and use genuine canon batteries

  • why a phottix battery grip is inside MEIKE battery grip box?

  • which is better?

are the batters ok if they do not say canon on the batter

  • Excellent review! I'm trying to decide OEM or After Market.. Thank you!

  • @rickgut2004 i got after market and it works perfectly and feels good. but, the grip is peeling off. no good im getting the canon one.

  • i have get one of this, it was working really fine until the screws holding the grip to the body of the cam went broken.

it givs a good feeling but its a a junk pease, but you get what you payed for. makes me sad anyway

  • so how is this grip holding up? and breakage?

  • you can run the 2ti with one battery too with this grip

  • hey when i remove my battery flap my camera pretty much doesn't work any ideas?

  • Hi does it come included with the 2 additional batteries? From the ebay page, it doesn't say that the 2 extra batteries are included.

  • One battery works just fine my friend. The grip serves merely as an extension cord. The grip requires no added power. Two batteries double your productivity. It's nothing like a pro motor drive on a 35mm camera which needed power to advance film. My old Pentax took 10 AA's to advance 35mm film at 5fps. The fastest ever built and looked intimidating as hell. Nice vid but needs ONLY ONE battery.

  • @chefpetey yea same for T1I i was usein grip wit one battery

  • Did anyone catch if the battery cartridges are interchangable?

Just messing with you nana2226. Good video. I think Im gonna buy it now.

  • i love the noises. lol

  • I ordered one of these off of eBay for $45 and it arrived in the mail today, it's an awesome grip. It gives the camera a more professional look and makes the camera a lot easier to hold and take portraits with. 9.5/10 for me.

  • which battery grip is best to buy im going to do a lot of film so i do not know which one to buy i saw some on ebay with remotes?

  • why is there an off and on button for the grip?

  • i just bought one off ebay.. hope everything works out..

  • @xexodusx howd it go?

  • it's for 80 dollars now !

  • @xmeerzx u buy it?

  • @MsJas666 I bought one from linkdelight but haven't received it yet

  • @xmeerzx yeah linkdelight shipping is slow but their grips aren't half bad,

  • @Eagle1337 I got it! It's awesome !!!

  • @xmeerzx it has all of the right buttons right? my 500D battery grip just left their warehouse.

  • @Eagle1337 Yup, like the OEM

  • Shutter button is in a slightly different position and angle, also. Otherwise a good copy.

  • hi, may I ask, are you 100% sure it won't work with 1 battery-only? thanks

  • what is the wight of the camera with the aftermarket grip?

  • about 800g

  • @newnhamlea1 including the batteries?

  • @crysisguy05 that was a guess I have now worked it out to be exactly, 842g.

  • @newnhamlea1 842gr only the body, grip and batteries, without a lens. right?

  • @crysisguy05 correct.

  • good review, helped a lot

  • You can use a batterygrip with a single battery also if one battery runs out. However I think you can trust the 3rd party batteries but I think Original grip is much better.

  • cant wait until i can upgrade from my 550d to the 5d mkii ... full frame is worth it..

  • whats full frame?

  • @JOSUE5401

canon has 3 seperate sensor sizes

the Rebel and xxD series use APS-C (1.6 crop factor) and the 1D uses APS-H (1.3), all which multiply the focal length of lenses

On a full frame camera like the 5D(mkII) and 1Ds series, the sensor is full size, and conforms to old FD mount 35mm sized lenses, and utilizes the full focal length of lens, not multiplying the focal length at all.

  • thanks for exsplaining it to me! would you recomend a full frame camera or is it just another add on that isent that trivial and i could get along fine with a canon 550d?

  • @JOSUE5401

lol affording full frame digital cameras is a right on its own, kts a bit expensive, and getting along* with the 550D is all about being ok with using the features it offers

  • @JOSUE5401 5D mk II and 1Ds mk III are the latest ones from Canon

  • @zreau thanks for the info but i'm gettign the 550d

  • is it safe to use the battery grip with an aftermarket battery? or should i use only Canon battery with the grip?

  • you have a canon 5d mark 2....a 7d and a 550d....you can die happy

  • You don't need two batteries in the grip for the camera to run. Good review though. :)

  • @lini2009 Meaning, I can just use one battery for the grip and the camera still runs?

  • @Arfiande

    Yup.

  • Link to buy that cheaper one please.. !!

  • @andyshrestha buy it at amazon.com for genuine canon battery grip..for extra $, you get the original one not aftermarket.

  • Hello!! Thanks for this cool side by side comparison. Are you allow to mention where you got the Phottix grip?
