the more i listen to Volta albums, the more i realize that at the drive-in's Relationship of Command was far superior than anything the Volta released after Deloused in the Commatorium. im not sure wht the mars volta is trying to achieve, but i dont think you can call it "music" or "brilliant" anymore, there's too much experimentation going on. at the drive in had better songs.

shame on you for saying "too much experimentation", expressing yourself to the extent of your musical capabilities is the whole point in my opinion. i agree that deloused was their best, however i feel as though they were trying to fit a genre with ATDI whereas TMV is more of a free expression of themselves. the musicians that are the mars volta have far surpassed the cumulative talent of ATDI.
