  • Great

  • I can remember this song from when I was a kid, loved this song! Man, it feels so goo hearing it again:)

  • I meant to say that, "Man, it feels good hearing this song again:)".

  • thanks for having this on utube:)

  • I'm hearing this song for the first time in YEARS! I remember hearing a lot of early and mid 80's Christian music since I got saved in the mid 80's. It's really a lifetime ago actually. Thanks for sharing.

  • Anyone know where I can find this on CD? This song and "closer to you" were my favorite praise and worship songs. I use to wake up singing "closer to you." I love Roby Duke. I know he is with the one that inspired him to make this wonderful music.

  • @jocee3 Have you tried Roby's website or googling his name or napster? Those may be some possible options.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr... thanks brotha, I will try that!

  • good singer

  • yes he is heard him back in 84'

  • You are missed brother!

  • @mjlearmouth Is he deceased?

  • @JHDthe8 Interestingly enough, he died 4 years ago today. I just googled him.

  • Respond to this video... Sounds like Terry Blackwood doing background vocals. Anyone know?

  • brilliant....was blessed to hear brother Roby live and meet him..love this album!

  • This is one of my favorites from Roby. Brings back wonderful memories of my teen years. Thank you so very much for posting

  • THANKS nobum2 FOR THIS GREAT POST OF THIS SOULFUL CCM-PIONEER ...JUST THANKS!

  • That was my favorite christian musician during my early transition for dope -head to Christ-head. I am a musician and only played worldly music until I heard Roby. That change was set into motion. Thank you LORD for the time we had with him and his music.

  • Thank you God for loaning us Roby Duke.

  • I PROMISE I am not trying to cause trouble, but I have a hard time with a Christian using the term :African American." If Whoopie Goldberg of all people says that term is offensive and even un-American and that she doesen't believe in hyphenating her American heritage as a black woman, I believe Christians should be even MORE against it. After all, it is only a politically correct term that isn't recognized anywhere else in the world...

  • @mxrdvr I don't base my life on Whoopie Goldberg who is not a christian at all. So, sorry if I'm not feeling you on that one. When someone asked anyone in america what is their decent they usually say; Chinese, polish, mexican ect... but when a black person says it why is it made to be such a big deal? Not trying to cause trouble either but why do you care what I call myself? I don't get offended when someone says what they are. Maybe you need not spend your time worring about others.

  • I kid you not, I am african american and I always thought growing up that Roby was a black man until I saw his album cover one day and it just shocked me. LOL,His look just did not match his sound or voice. He was our riding music when we went down to myrtle beach. Loved him!

  • Could you please post the rest of this album up. I love this cd but cannot find it anywhere.

  • that would be great. i never had this cd unfortunately but i had not the same. i love the song off this album, I'm Persuaded.

  • I be happy to see him again. He's the reason for my change to writing and playing christian music. I heard him out west and said I can get into the christian music if I could do it like that. Thanks for the love in your music.

  • All of Roby's albums are released on CD, though you have to do some searching and pay a chunk, (but worth every cent). I have them all, even the stuff he did for others, including Heather and Kirsten, Arcade and the Katina Boyz, (some you may have to buy as imports). Roby was a friend and mentor, and I miss him dearly ... he affected my "walk" so immensely with his music and his words, and I long for the music he never got to create. God bless always.

  • Thank u for this!! I discovered him in the sale bin at the Buffalo Christian Center, and then came the Arcade records years, and now he's singing in The Presence - it will be so great when we get there too!

    Tks for the note.

  • You're welcome ... let me know if you have trouble finding all of his stuff, and I'll point you in the right direction. I am a songwriter/musician and I was supposed to fly out to Seattle to meet with him about my music ... because of one thing or another, I had to keep delaying it. I was finally open to go that February, and he passed at Christmas. It was an amazing opportunity - to meet with my mentor and inspiration who liked my music enough to do so - and I took it for granted, and lost out.

  • Just proves the point one more time: Don't put off your dreams ... go after them now and with all your heart. That's a priceless opportunity that will never come again, and I blew it. Good luck with tracking his music down ... unfortunately, when you find it nowadays it's usually as a Japanese import, and very expensive. (He was very popular in Japan, and had many big concerts there.) God bless!

  • those japanese have good taste :)

  • What Roby is with Jesus? Wow. I played the daylights out of this song at KCTA Corpus Christi back in the day!!! I always thought he was the Christopher Cross of CCM.

  • Man! You can't tease us with just two songs off this album!! I remember others that are very good. Would you PLEASE send whole album? I'll even pay! for them.

    Thanks

  • It used to be the intro to 'Manna for Today' with Pastor Raul Reis- My intro to his music.

  • Somewhere in this great country someone is sitting on the master of this album...PLEASE do us all a favor and get this rereleased on CD. It has to be in the top10 albums from the eightees....with many fine players on it as well. This album would be a breath of fresh air as well as an inspiration to all of us Americans who have been blessed with so much!

  • Richierich - I was fortuante to get a copy of the from HMV Japanese imports. Sadly, it is nol long available. I only needed this one to complete Roby's cd catalog.

  • As a young Christian, this tape (later CD) was my favorite to drive to and from work... the words and the feeling were on target... I am so, so sad to hear that Roby died. Thanks for posting this song... and my prayers and sympathy go to his family...

  • May he rest of peace, Roby Duke was a very talented Christian singer. I really like this song, one of the best I ever heard. God Bless

  • Roby DIED???? o no! what a talent and what a precious man he was! I didn't know!

  • First of all sorry for the very late reply, yes sadly he is, but I'm very sure his soul is saved and that we will see him when Jesus Christ makes his glorious return to take his people home:). God Bless and may peace be with you

  • Aw, man. I didn't know Roby had passed. I remember listening to & loving this song as I drove up Angeles Crest Highway back in the mid-eighties. Precious memory. We are all just a vapor, as Scripture rightly says.

  • thanks for posting this song...its been years since I heard it. I so love and appreciate Roby. I pray gods peaceupon his son as he grieves. I pray that his son will continue with his own music and bless God. Alex Edmonton Alberta Canada

  • sadly i found blue eye soul off a friend

there almost no where to be found

  • I loved Roby Duke so much! My mom and I used to listen to him all the time. He will be missed! I would love to buy his music but it seems hard to get. Any suggestions for buying his music of the 90's? Take care and God Bless.

  • One of my favorite Roby Duke songs for almost a score of years. Thank you.
