  • Scotty, will my Check Engine light turn on if that sensor is bad in my 94 Accord?

  • @Jorge228272 Only if it goes really bad for a long time, computer software on that old thing is pretty weak.

  • thanks scotty love your videos keep up the good work

  • thats the problem that i have

  • Happy New Year,2012,thanks for all the diy videos.

  • hey Scotty I drive a 95 Camaro and my coolant fan doesn't turn on as soon as the car starts? Is that normal?

  • @rockjam101 Generally yes - that is normal. Electric cooling fans only run when the coolant reaches a certain temperature, or if you're running the A/C.

  • Scotty, I have a 98 Ford Sable and we have changed the thermostat in my car but it is still blowing cold air. I think it might be the engine fan as it kicks on then kicks off for about 30 secs and then kicks on again, could this be the issue and how do I fix it?

  • @85ajmcrae watch my video "fixing your car's heater" and try all that then.Doubt it's the fans.

  • Scotty, Will a 1.5 motor and 5 speed trans from a 1994 Toyota Tercel fit in a 1986 Toyota Corolla FX with a 1.5 motor and 5 speed trans?

  • @brayescue No, too many differences in sensors and wiring. Scotty

  • Scotty you are the shit.

  • hey scotty, i have an 88 civic, the fan wasnt working, we changed the battery out, then it started working. pretty much right when i started driving it stopped again, any suggestions? my speedometer doesnt work either lol, but it was the other week

  • @elementality2431 often a bad computer problem in that case, I normally just rewire em to run all the time the car is running and leave it at that. Scotty

  • This was very helpful. You learn something new everyday, especially from Scotty! :)

  • Scotty Kilmer you the man lol

  • Scotty, I have a 2001 Olds Aurora and the fans are only working when the ac is on. Check engine light is on and car overheats because fans not working when heater is on. Fuses appear to be good. Any suggestions?

  • @jacieleavell1 yes, go to a place like auto zone, they can sell you the sensor that turns the fans on, and you can buy one, and they can print you out a picture where it is on your car. Scotty

  • Why don't you use the fisheye anymore ? that's very cool in the vid !

  • Scotty I have a 99 Honda accord which has a fan problem they don't turn on when the car marks that it is hot I checked the relays I replaced the sensor fan switch.they only turn when you turn on the ac what can it be( also the car marks hot even if its still cold)

  • @623bullet change the thermal switch for the fan, any auto parts store can sell you one and show you where it is on the engine. and pray it's that, and NOT a bad main computer, cause that does it too in Hondas. scotty

  • My fan is not working on Acura integration l.s 95. I ll sure will follow your step. Thank a lot!!

  • Scotty you just saved my life man. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and it was still overheating. I watched your video and it turns out the coolant sensor was the culprit. A $15 part was the issue. Mine you, I had already bought a new fan and hoses and was going to have it replaced. But your info saved the day. God bless you man. I love people who love mustangs.

  • Hi! I'm having problem with my cooling fans, I have a 1999 Buick Century Custom. I plugged them in directly to the battery and they both ran. I have also checked the fuses and the relays and they work. My question is, how do you check the temperature switch on the Century? I think I found it and it has three wires one green one black and one yellow (unless this is not it) This is the only thing I haven't tested. Could you please help?

  • @seth1986 it's complex, just buy a new switch and see if that fixes it. If not, could be on the main computer, in which case just rewire the dumb fans to run off a toggle switch or the ignition switch when you turn it on. Scotty

  • I have a 97 Toyota celica that doesn't like stop and go traffic( it overheats). To summarize my problem only one of my rad fans work and it will only work if the ac is on. What do I need to fix? Could it be a relay, fuse, sensor or what?

  • @RandomVidHero check the one that doesn't work first by hot wiring the fan. If it's bad, replace it. If not, start digging into the relays and wiring for shorts. Scotty

  • The fan on my 2001 chevy impala has been making screeching noise when ac is on but it stopped 2 days ago. Then today my car overheated and i noticed the fan not turning at all when ac is on. Got home checked the fuse and it was popped so I replaced it but now it went back to making the same loud screeching that it did before, so does the fan need to be replaced? ITs a dual fan system and not sure if the other one works or not just know that the one for the AC is really loud when on.

  • @ardnuas1 yes, replace the fan motor they make noise when burning out. Scotty

  • Hi, Scotty, do you know what the cooling fan fuse is for 99 camry? I look at the fuse boxes, all fuses are labeled with short names (e.g., EFL, TEL). It's hard to tell which one is for cooling fans. Thanks.

  • @wyuan100 It should be the main box under the hood, ifyou can't figure their acronyms, just check all the fuses with a test light, if blown, one side will show power, the other will show nothing. Scotty

  • hey scotty, my car 1998 acura cl the two coolings fans are always on after you open the ignicion switch, I replace fan cooling sensor , relays, what happen did you know

  • @MrThrasher420 ultimately the main computer runs the fans., But if hurts nothing if they run all the time. better than not running at all .Scotty

  • Man, you make fixing cars look so easy. I wish u could fix my car. It has a lot of problems.

  • Hey Scotty, will a cooling fan set off a check engine light on an '03 Chevy Impala? It went off, and neither of the fans are working.

  • @ESPsandEmgs sometimes yes, sometimes no. Just depends how it breaks and whether the computer circuits can read that problem or not. software is not the greatest in those. Scotty

  • Hi, when i removed the plug on the cooling fan temperature switch and turned the ignition On, the fan starts to run and when i plug it again, it wont run. Is the temperature switch is the problem? Do I need to replace it or its something else? Please Help!

  • @mbox0818 try a new switch, it could be shorted out, but if not, you've got serious wiring OR main computer problems as the main computer runs the fans ultimately. Scotty

  • is the cooling fan temperature switch the same as an ETC sensor

  • @Aviator14 On some cars, yes. On others, they have separate sensors. Scotty

  • help me locate the temperature sensor on a 96 geo prizm

  • @mexemil should be next to the thermostat. But if you go to auto zone, they can print out you an exact picture. Scotty

  • the radiator fan on my car turns on as soon as i turn on the car and it wont turn off unless i turn the car off... do you know if theres something wrong with my car???

  • @carloslivinloud Minor electrical short turning the fan on, but if it doesn't overheat and runs fine otherwise, leave it alone. Many cars do that as they age. Scotty

  • @carloslivinloud thank you so much

  • Thanks for the video. I used your method to test find out the motor was dead on my fan.

  • Hi, the fan in my (VolksWagen Jetta 2000 2.0L) car is acting wierd. When the car is turned off the fan does not turn off. Do you think is the cooling fan switch?

  • @rthefro52 no, the switch can't do that. ONly a bad main computer or bad fan relay can do that, OR a wiring short. Often the computer itself. in a VW> Scotty

  • Hi, the fan in my (VolksWagen Jetta 2000 2.0L) car is acting wierd. When the car is turned off the fan does not turn off. Do you think is the cooling fan switch?

  • I have a 2000 camaro standard 3.8 liter engine. I was having trouble locating the fan switch, and the auto parts stores and dealership could not come up with a match for "cooling fan switch". I found an a/c system switch [FOUR SEASONS Part # 36698]. because I have a duel electric fan system, I was wondering if this would be the part I was looking for, since the ac fan and radiator fan work together? if you know the answer, could you also tell me where this thing is located?? THANKS

  • @stgtng that switch turns the fans on for the AC, another one does it for the non ac fan operation. Go go any auto zone, they can sell you the switch and print you out a picture where it is. I can't send pictures, my data system is encripted. Scotty

  • Hello scotty when i turn on the AC on a 87 mercedes benz 6cyl it vibrates in idle also when driving is worst the fan infront the condenser is shaking and 1 or 2 blades broken,u think thats the cause,or the alternator is not sending enough power the belt is good, compressor ok.

  • @hp11208 of course, replace the fan you can't run it with broken blades, then pray the fix is that simple. Scotty

  • this guy is goood hahaha

  • where would the cooling fan switch be on a 96 accord l4? also, is there a way to check if the relay is good or bad?

  • @TheLastDesires relays are hard to check, but hondas use the same relays for many different apps, so just unplug it and try one of the other same relays in its place. The cooling fan switch should be by the thermostat housing on the engine where the big radiator hose connects. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer

I replaced the relays and fuses and they were all working. I did what you said and the fan still doesn't come on. I attached the battery to the fans and they worked. Is it a safe bet that I should just buy a new cooling fan switch? Thanks for the help (:

  • HI I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE CARS I WOULDLIKE TO KNOW IF THE FAN IS SUPPOSED TO STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS OFF? I HAVE A 1999 DODGE CARAVAN, IT'S GETTING HOT OUTSIDE AND WHEN I TURNED MY CAR OFF THERE WAS A LITTLE ANTIFREEZE ON THE GROUND I WAS TOLD THE FAN WAS NOT WORKING WHEN THE CAR IS OFF TO COOL OFF THE MOTOR

  • thanks, this one was very helpful :):)

i have a 1985 VW Jetta MK2..it's kind of old car and fan starts only when i'm driving at traffic jams.. i bought this car 6 month ago, and fan was spinning only 2 times since i bought it, both times i was sitting at traffic jam :/

  • @paroleirparole if it doesn't overheat, that is normal, they only come on when the engine starts to get hot enough. Scotty

  • While the cooling fan temperature switch is connected to the negative terminal, what is the positive wire connected to. Thanks again.

  • Awesome! Only, is the cable from the positive terminal attched to the fan?

  • @16warriorfireheart positive power goes to ones wire on the fan, negative ground power to the other.Scotty

  • Where's the cooling fan relay located on a 94 Mustang V6??

  • @OtreblaIIIable should be with all the other relays in the main box under the hood. Your owner's manual would say. Scotty

  • i replaced the intake gasket on my 2002 buick century and now the fan does not come on i changed all the relays and cooling sensor and i really don't know what to do next...any ideas?

  • @bigbearjpw You probably messed up the wiring or the sensor that turns on the fans. Check the wiring and sensors closely. Scotty

  • you are the man SK

  • hi the fan on the front of my 1993 cheverolet corsica v6 3.1 wont spin after installing my new water pump? everything else works fine. i just dont know what to do to make it spin again.. Can you help me?

  • @SuperReece13 follow the advice in this video, check it out to see if the motor is burned out, or if you messed up the wiring doing the job. scotty

  • hi the fan on the front of my 1993 cheverolet corsica v6 3.1 wont spin after installing my new water pump? everything else works fine. i just dont know what to do to make it spin again.. Can you help me?

  • This guy has the best DIY videos on youtube...

  • Hi,

And thanks for your quick reply!!! Somebody told me that it running all the time was bad because the engine wouldn't get to normal running temperature, but what you said makes more sense. Thanks again for your expert advise :)

  • Hi,

My fan comes on when I start the car, and then doesn't go off, both my relays and sockets look super gunky sticky-also when I changed the ac compressor relay - the fan didn't turn on when I started the car, but then when we got the fan running it went back to running upon starting the car. Do I need to chage the connector socket too? If so how do I do that? 1990 Cavalier

    Thank you

  • @superautism If the car runs OK, leave it alone. That system is complex, AND ultimately is computer driven, meaning you could need an expensive new computer. running the fan all the time hurts nothing. Scotty

  • Scotty do you have a mechanic shop so i can work for free.. LOL

  • @red666A I work Alone. Scotty

  • Hi Scotty, My 01 Camry's A/C condenser fan doesn't work when I turned the AC on. I hooked the fan motor directly to battery and it's fine. I checked the fuses too. Which switch or sensor might be the problem? Or which fan relay (there are # 1,2 and 3). Btw, the car has no A/C issue or overheat problem whatsoever for a now but don't like the idea it is never turning on..Thanks in advance.

  • @scyllis swap relays around , many are the same. If that's not it, I'd advise just wiring the fan to run off the ac clutch wire, using new wire and a new relay. I do that ALL the time. Scotty

  • i have a 92 oldsmobile and neither fans work..what could be my problem??

  • I have a 94 camaro and im missing some relays. is the slot for the cooling fan #2 supposed to be vacant?

  • @tonyman217 If you only have one cooling fan and not two, then yes. Scotty

  • scotty a puzzing question how come some cars with a belt driven fan have one or two electric fans on front of the rad? now being that the case wouldnt it be cheaper do away with the belt fan all together?

  • @Matthew55904 those other fans are for the AC system to cool the condenser. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer how come when i have my heat on on my car the rad fan never turns on? i hear a fan just never see one

  • hey scotty. is it possible to test the relay

  • @BaileyMDMJ707 relays are pretty hard to test, but many cars use the same exact relay for many other things, so you can just swap em to try em out. Scotty

  • hey scotty i got a 2003 honda accord and i had problem wit the fan and overheat but i fixed and now everything working fine but i want to know how minutes it takes for the fan turn on and turnoff when the a/c is off . thank u

  • @jgiverson that depends upon how hot it is outside, and how hot the engine is, and how well the fans work. As long as the car runs fine temp wise, and the fans don't run when you shut the engine off, that's fine. Scotty

  • i have a question pls, i have a mk4 golf and my cooling fan is not working the way it should be...when i turn on my ignition the 2 cooling fan turns on as well and as long as you run the car the fan keeps on working and the temp gauge does not move an inch. Once i switch off the ignition the fan is still going for at least 5-10mins after but no sign of temp watsoever?..its also draining my battery? do you think its the big relay under the battery??thanks

  • @TheMsRobin VW's are insanely complex money pits as they age. It could be the fan relays, that's worth a try. But it could also be the main computer which you could never check out yourself. VWs are high tech monsters that take years of experience and tens of thousands of dollars of equipment to work on correctly. One reason I advise people never to buy them if money is tight. Scotty

  • Hey Scotty, I was wondering where the sensor for the cooling fan is located . Where is it in a car. Also is the cooling fan switch located in the same place on every vehicle if not how can i locate it? Thank you !

  • @raeleo1 all cars are different. Some put the sensors on the radiator, some on the engine head, some on the thermostat housing. If you want to know where yours is, just take a trip to a place like auto zone and they will show you a picture on their locating computer. Scotty

  • how do u test the coolant temp sensor, where do i run the jumper wire from the sensor? pos or neg on battery?

  • @zztopgearhead1 Depends upon the car. Some you ground the sensor wire and it turns it on, others have two wires and you connect those together to make the fans go on. Scotty

  • HI Scotty. Today I replaced the thermostat because of an overheating problem in my 5.9L 1998 Dodge Ram, and the problem is solved. But while I was looking at the engine to decide what was wrong, I noticed that when I turn the cab heater on, my A/C compressor clutch turns on, even though it's cold outside and I had the heat all the way to max. Inside the cab there is a single control knob for A/C and heater. Is this normal behavior for my vehicle?

    Thanks.

    Dave

  • @spelunkerd Yes, that's normal, that's to stop fog from obscuring your vision on the windshield. AC air is really dry, but heat is much hotter than AC so the air still is hot. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Thanks, Scotty.

  • what the name of that test wire @1:52 that you're using.

  • Scotty thanks for your educative videos(shows). They are a great tool.My problem is that i can not figure out my cooling fan switch in my Toyota Rav4 96.Pls help me do this for i wish to change the sensor to make my fans work. Thanks

  • @Banytar It's on the side of the engine where the hose comes from the radiator to the engine head. Buy a new one and you'll easy be able to match it up. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer .Scotty sorry ,i can not make it out. There are 3 units there and i do not know which is which.Pls help.

  • Scotty, today i had my car to a garage, they hooked up the scan tool an we saw how hot the temperature for the coolant was getting, 235 the fan is suppose to turn on at 215, still not working, new coolant temp sensor, new thermostat, dex cool antifreeze, fan tested with jumper wires, works perfect but hear a bearing going bad in motor. what should i do? any help thanks

  • @zztopgearhead1 Replace the fan motor definitely. Scotty

  • Scotty, can i have a shop set the computer when to turn the fan on, example, if its set to turn on, at 220 can the computer be set to turn on at 200?

  • @zztopgearhead1 Depends on the vehicle, but most can not have that done, unless you find someone who can write new software for the computer and install it. Scotty

  • Scotty, i replaced the coolant temp sensor, thermostat, tested the fan motor, works good, when i am sitting in traffic, the stupid fan does not come on, fuse an relay is good, i suspect its the antifreeze, chevy an gm call for dex cool the orange stuff, what do u suspect? kody

  • @scottykilmer...ok, every1 is overheating & u are delivering genius tricks! but, that section of ects testing just needs clarity for a newbie cadet..i made the aligator clips & tested the fan..it works! the ects?? just use an bear end thread of a wire and stick it into one or the two tiny holes in the sensor cap then clip an end with an aligator clip to the neg. battery viola..it turns on or not. i read your response but kinda confused with what im sticking

  • Scotty, i fixed it, the temp sensor was bad, also replaced it with a new thermostat, started it, to warm it up, it still overheated, turns out there was air in the system, bled it out an gauge goes in middle, thank u so much for all your help. Kody

  • Scotty, i hooked up my actron scan tool, a code popped out with coolant temperature sensor high voltage, the coolant sensor controls the fans, does mean my sensor is bad or not working properly? i bought a new one.

  • @zztopgearhead1 Try it, incorrect voltage can make the fans not work, but also can ruin the computer circuits that turn it on, realize that. Scotty

  • WHEN I TURN MY AC TO HIGH ...ARE MY FANS SUPPOSED TO TURN ON RIGHT AWAY? 95 CAPRICE

  • @FIRMESTREETWEAR Not right away, but within a short period of time as the temp rises and the Ac pressure rises. Scotty

  • Comment removed

  • he is better then those village guys cant stand them

  • Omg lol ur like Bill Nye the scisnce guy but your Scotty Kilmer Mechanic Filmer...your videos are very helpful thanks alot

  • Another good video, Scotty. Say, one of the biggest problems I have is the challenge to find the location of various sensors for a particular vehicle. Google sometimes works great, sometimes not. For example, last year I searched high and low for the location of an oil pressure sending unit on my son's Ranger. Eventually I gave up, and the professional got a five minute job. Do you have any inside tips on how to find that stuff? Maybe a video showing what all these sensors look like....

  • hey scotty, on your video when you are checking the temp coolant fan switch, it cuts off when you are about to ground your jumper cable on it..what do you ground it on?

  • @djihn13 On the car I was using, it's always grounded by itself. If yours is different, you apply power to the power wire, and ground power to the ground wire by jumping the ground to any metal part of the engine or battery ground terminal. Scotyt Kilmer

  • 2003 oldsmobile alero miles won't work how do you fix it ?????????????????/

  • @thedukesofhazzard95 If the speedometer works, but not the odometer, replace the dash assembly with one from a junk yard. No one fixes em, they're all computerized. Scotty Kilmer

  • ive replaced the ac compresser on an 1987 oldsmobile cutlass 5.0 307 ive poured pag oil in the compresser just to rotate around since it didnt have any. since it dosent ahve any refrigerant in it at all do i still need a ac vaccum pump to get the mosture out? please give me the simple steps of getting this started because its freaking hot here in south florida...lol....Teddy

  • hi Scotty i have a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass 5.0 307 ive replaced the 02 sensor since ive know the checked engine light was on. ive took off the smog pump as also because we dont have emissions here in florida. when i start the the car up the light is stll on what can i do about that? i just want the light off thanks....Teddy

  • Thanks for this video now i know how to check my fan on my car, cuz it doesnt turn on.

  • were can you buy the mini jumper cables

  • @jakemarquez11 Any auto parts store has them, or you can make your own with wire and alligator clips like I did. Scotty Kilmer

  • Thank you that was very helpful. Keep up the good work.

  • my car has 2 fans one is white and the other one black i think the withe one is for the AC but it doesnt work@ so when i have the AC on it starts to heat up..... how can i fix this?? the other fan does work.

  • @danielc49102 Hot wire the fan that doesn't work with power from the battery using small jumper cables. If it doesn't work, replace the fan motor. If it does work, fix the wiring system. Scotty Kilmer

  • @scottykilmer i try it today and it does and the fan does work with cables to the battery. im cheking a little black box that is conected to the battery and to the 2 fans but i cant open it it says 3H 25 !0 231 197000 Calsonic kancei should i try open it?? i think i burn a fuse that other they and i have check all the fuses everywhere and everthing is alrights idk wat alse to do.

  • how can i check the fan relay fuse if its good

  • @hp11208 There is no such thing as a fan relay fuse. There are fuses, and when blown the metal strip inside will be broken. And there are little plastic rectangle boxes, which are relays. You'd need to be a mechanic to check out a relay, BUT many cars use the same relays for different things, so often you can just swap them with another of the same from your vehicle. Scotty Kilmer

  • i have a cooling fan hooked up too my car. but i own a BMW and the battery is in the back so where can i run the wires?

  • @bullzeye128 Just run REALLY long wires from the back, they sell 50 foot spools of wire at all auto parts stores for about ten bucks around here. Scotty Kilmer

  • cool tv men....

  • cool v 8 cool tv ...

  • cool v8 men .... cool tv

  • This video couldn't have come at a better time. I think my cooling fans might be dead.... here I go to see if I can fix it. Thanks for up loading this video.

  • Is there anyway to tell how much amps the fan is drawing? Coz when the fan in my car kicks in, the voltmeter drops from 12.9 to 12.1v. thats with all the normal night electricals turned on..

  • Of course, you can hook an meter in line with an amp shunt and measure it directly., They do use a lot of power though, and as long as they run and don't get the wiring going to them all hot, they are normally fine. Scotty Kilmer

  • Scotty, I love your enthusiastic voice!!!!!!!!

  • I used this video to help me fix the cooling fan on my 1989 Plymouth Voyager. It was a bad relay. Thank you Scotty!

  • I'm here to help. Scotty Kilmer

  • 1:48 ??????????????????

  • OK, the clip did cut short there. You put one end of the ground wire onto the wire that you just unplugged from the sensor. Then ground it by connecting the other end of the ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery. If the fan runs, then the switch is bad. Scotty Kilmer

  • COOL

  • haha i was expecting the blue camry to accelerate away randomly with you in the trunk.

  • No, that ending is for my son who just went back to afghanistan in the 101st airborne (that's his car resting here for the next year.) Scotty Kilmer

  • A lot of really good information here. Thanks.

  • Excellent video as usual - but better quality this time, have you got a new camera??

  • No, that's an interesting comment. I've been having hassles with my ATT internet, and they finally got me at the right 25 meg profile. So now I can upload a 550 meg file instead of having to compress it all to get it uploaded. scotty kilmer

  • Well close to what I was asking exept this is the opposite for whats happening in my 2000 Pontiac Gp GT My Fan always on even when the key is off .Middle of winter - 30 Celcius no differ. To the point where I always have to pull the fuse when I shut the car off .

  • As yours runs all the time, change the cooling temperature sensor for the fan. It must be stuck in the on position, OR the fan relay is shorted stuck on. Scotty Kilmer

  • when u buy a new car expect weird shit lots of hardware in those new car lots of varible lots of fuck up...... sorry about your luck. stop buy cars over 96. anything below that is golden except fords and chevys

  • Oh, I have great luck. I just use cars I'm working on as video actors. they are props to show how to fix cars. Scotty Kilmer

  • no no no scotty that coment was not for you someone like u can buy and work on any car. i was commenting on another person. sorry for confusion thanks for videos keep up good work

  • how do you add an electric fan setup to an old setup that uses a fan run off of the water pump? I would like to convert my ford bronco to electric but the wiring kit to do it costs way more then it really is. how do i do it?

  • Pretty easy, just buy a universal fan like the one I was spinning in front of my face as a prop. Then wire the ground directly to the body of the car for negative power. And wire the power wire to the fan to power from the ignition switch that comes on when you start the engine. You can put a relay in line for safety (makes the wiring a bit more complex) and you can even put a thermo switch in line for temp control, but that makes it more complex. Wiring it straight is fine. Scotty Kilmer

  • thank you sir!

how does the thermo switch work? does it go inline with the relay and a sensor in the upper radiator hose or what?

how many amps do those electric fans draw? should the fan be pulling air through the radiator or pulling heat away from the engine?

  • @fordbroncodave it should be pulling air through the radiator

also i would imagine you would wire the fan to a power source that is hot when the engine is turned on, then you can wire a relay for safety, and then before you get to the fan you wire a temperature sensor between the relay and fan, i haven't installed a electric fan before, but i have looked into it, for now a mechanical clutch fan is good enough for my 302w in my '77 F-150 4x4, also you should be able to find wire diagrams online

  • FTE didn't tell me shit when i asked about it a couple months ago.

i am just gonna poke around for some ON/OFF power control through the ignition swich. then i will add a 3 position switch. (1 for winter startup, 2 for winter driving, 3 for summer driving)

  • @fordbroncodave well what section did you try? i know i hang out in the'73-'79 F-series section and i know they have some knowledgeable members in my section, but your correct, there are some idiots on there who don't want to help anyone, the Bronco section seems to have some real characters from what i have seen when i posted there, best of luck, but wiring up a temp sensor isn't that hard, its basically a thermostat for the fan, it heats up, so it kicks on the power to the fan,

  • @fordbroncodave also you can buy adjustable temperature sensors, then you can set when it should come on, typically the temp sensor should be mounted somewhere near the engine, also Google search ford trucks enthusiasts, click the first website, then sign up there for free, then go to the forum section, and then go to the Bronco section, not sure what generation yours is? '67-'77 or '78-'79 or newer? they should be able to help you out there with a wiring diagram and parts list,

  • Scott I have my 2007 mazda 3 dx 2.0 version and whenever i'm running lets say 40 mph, and the car's on 4th and last gear its running fine and the rpm's are less than 1 thousand, but whenever i hit a bit the gas, it makes a sound, like the transmission hit something. happens when engine is idle and i hit the gas. Happens to me too when my car's on drive and i put it on reverse fast. what could it be?

  • Check the motor mounts and the transmission mounts for cracks first, they will do that when the engine is torqued. And so will broken or cracked drive shafts, so check the cv joints at both ends of both drive shafts also. Scotty Kilmer

  • A friend of mine told me the same so when i changed the oil and filter i checked them, and apparently they were fine and nothing's broken. Obviously the motor moves, but i expected to move more agresively, so it means the supports are good. one of the shock absorbers is broken so i need to replace it soon. could that be the problem? if not what could it be? i was thinking that the problem could be too the clutch since i live in the mountains, and the holes here wont help at all.

  • Unless the shock was so far gone it clunked every time you accelerated, it wouldn't be the shock causing that problem. Scotty
