Fucking Udin and Salamander didn't do a good job of looking after their pact partner here -_- And Verdelet is just shameful... Arioch was right in front of him, he could've at least pulled her away from the dead baby... He's powerful enough to think he can bind Manah but can't fight a few grotesqueries to protect his ally? o.o
@Slavez88 Drakengard where Plot Powers instead of Saving your characters they kill them in the most horrible way possible and tell you to deal with it
Why "grotesqueries" for those who don't know, this word mean "ridiculous thing" in the context "you are doing something ridiculous". so my question is why did they give to the gods in this wonderful game the alternate name of grotesqueries ????please someone, answer me !!!!!!!
Now that I've seen this I have to get this game, looks awesome. That and I heard one of the ending ties into Nier so I want to see what thats all about.
@Koizumi77 I've thought about getting this game since I played and beat Nier too I would go so far as to say that perhaps the "white giant" mentioned in some translated information on nier's backstory I read on gamefaqs the "Queen Grotesqueries" would perhaps be that giant or just one of the giant babies fighting caim's dragon Angelus. The white chlorination sickness would probably have started from the grotesqueries appearance so I'd say angelus failed at killing it which triggered nier's story
@lusteraliaszero yeah, and that is what I wonder as well, I do know from the drakengard cutscenes how a good portion of references is used in nier's story. The seals, verses are terms borrowed straight from drakengard used in a unique manner, so no doubt that the books came about from some studying of the white giant or perhaps the world in which it came from was somehow discovered and knowledge from that was used for the Gestalt project
@lusteraliaszero yea because you have to account for their sentience as well, so there is a number of theories its just sad that cavia went under, and from information I've gathered Squareenix is heading that way too, fans alone just can't keep a company floating y'know, even if they were to answer fans with what a percentage want it still can't pay for itself it would be like say 1.5 percent of the U.S population liked a franchise if sales cant top the money used to make it, they can't profit
@Jaegar19Ultima while drakengard was mostly just bizarre, Nier is genuinely really really good. I cannot fathom how poorly it was received, in ten years people will probably regret this greatly.
cavia, as far as i understood, was simply bought, right? I don't really mind them not continuing nier, to be fair, that wasn't suited for a sequel, but I'd really really have liked to see some more from them.
@lusteraliaszero yeah and it really gets me why it is overlooked, I liked the version we got than the japanese one mainly because the japanese one follows too much to their "tastes" in ways I don't like to think of. from what I know currently I'll have to look up, from what I've read on mainline gaming news sites cavia had went bankrupt and disbanded it doesn't mean the team couldn't find other work but it does mean Nier can't be done by another company as far as I know
@Jaegar19Ultima And i must say, atleast for drakengard, I'd have liked the japanese one, while not many of the very dark things in drakengard was necessary, some were plot vital, and just simply the thought of censor isn't that appealing to me....
I have nothing against the american version of nier, neither the person, nor the character
@lusteraliaszero Drakengard/drag-on-dragoon was unecessarily censored, it just the plot confusing to see furiae just stab herself for no reason adequatly given for the english take on the game. I do like the mixture of horror and fantasy that is why I love Berserk. But really those stories are not meant to be censored. I'm just no fan of bishou boys despite that is what is supposed to bring in female fans they need to learn to appreciate less flattering characters for a down to earth story
@Jaegar19Ultima yeah, I agree, I like old nier better too, While i haven't played the japanese one, I hear the original nier was very much an idealist. Old nier is probably a bit more realistic, although nicer than he'd like to admit.
and yeah, the sister stabbing herself was confusing, and really, it's a game for adults, and the shame she felt could probably be understood by the audience no matter where in the world they live...
@lusteraliaszero Well to hear ones that like the japanese game it's preference, there is really no difference between the two "storywise" it's just the character, you have a young nier and youna is his sister he apparently went through hell to support after their parents died and in the japanese case he grows up in the 5 year period. And then you have our Nier a father who is desperately hoping to find a cure all the while busting his back for her whom becomes battle scarred fighting for 5 years

You have to fulfill several conditions for this ending path to happen. I think you need to have all the weapons collected.

@Jaegar19Ultima the white giant is the queen, this is pretty much without question.
the dragon is also mentioned, atleast in the japanese version...
what i find puzzling is how Noir and Weiss came to be.

It's one of the extra ones, not the actual storyline one. I forget which chapter it's from but I think the title was "Chaos" or something.
