@No603Scope Sadly it won't actually clock it up that high. I have one of the newer AMD APU's in my laptop as well...the TurboCore only takes mine up to a max of like 1.9GHz at the highest. It says it can go as high as 2.4GHz, but that is the safe maximum. Won't ever really go that high.

Besides, why not overclock an outdated laptop to run newer games or CAD programs/ simulations instead of wasting money on a new system? So basically processors are made in large batches. The different speeds are determined by benchmarking each processor, and the max speed it is stable at, the manufacturer caps it. A batch of Brisbane Processors could have say 100 rated to 2.7-3ghz, and they would be capped to 2.6ghz and marketed there. Another batch of 100 would get 2.9-3.2, and cap at 2.9ghz. So its dumb luck whatever speed your processor is. That said, every processor is different, even if it is the same core and speed.
Every processor is different, even if someone has a celeron @ 2.19 it wont be the same results. You have to slowly increase and test with a benchmark. as you get higher clocks, you need to test more extensively. be very careful overclocking can kill your PC its not to fool around with unless you know what your doing.

You have a single core. Which technically speaking is much more capable of OCing per temperature-There is only one core at 2.1ghz. Your processor should be able to go pretty high, but only if your computer allows you to up the voltage high enough. On another note, overclocking in the way I have described overclocks everything connected to the FSB. Meaning yeah, your processor could take it, but more than likely other components would fail.
Think of FSB speed, or frequency, as a world class swimmer. The faster he goes, the more air he needs to keep his muscles working. The faster (frequency) you go, the more air (or voltage) you need to sustain a stable working system.

CPU frequency is not the ONLY factor determining speed, but when looking at the same manufacturer and architectures etc. increasing processor frequency decreases the amount of time it takes to transfer program instructions from memory to control unit to ALU and back to memory.

So basically processors are made in large batches. The different speeds are determined by benchmarking each processor, and the max speed it is stable at, the manufacturer caps it. A batch of Brisbane Processors could have say 100 rated to 2.7-3ghz, and they would be capped to 2.6ghz and marketed there. Another batch of 100 would get 2.9-3.2, and cap at 2.9ghz. So its dumb luck whatever speed your processor is. That said, every processor is different, even if it is the same core and speed.

Every processor is different, even if someone has a celeron @ 2.19 it wont be the same results. You have to slowly increase and test with a benchmark. as you get higher clocks, you need to test more extensively. be very careful overclocking can kill your PC its not to fool around with unless you know what your doing.

2) if i do overclock, should i do it outside or like in the freezer?

Well in all seriousness...
You have a single core. Which technically speaking is much more capable of OCing per temperature-There is only one core at 2.1ghz. Your processor should be able to go pretty high, but only if your computer allows you to up the voltage high enough. On another note, overclocking in the way I have described overclocks everything connected to the FSB. Meaning yeah, your processor could take it, but more than likely other components would fail.

Think of FSB speed, or frequency, as a world class swimmer. The faster he goes, the more air he needs to keep his muscles working. The faster (frequency) you go, the more air (or voltage) you need to sustain a stable working system.

@northernrebel1992 So you are telling me that when I changed my CPU that had the same architecture and cache, to a higher frequency, it didn't improve all my gaming FPS and gave a higher 3dmark score? CPU frequency is not the ONLY factor determining speed, but when looking at the same manufacturer and architectures etc. increasing processor frequency decreases the amount of time it takes to transfer program instructions from memory to control unit to ALU and back to memory.

i sat my laptop outside, and got it down to 38,2'C (outside temp was about -5'C)
then i overclocked it up to 2,201GHz, and it workes fine^________^ (temp stabile at 63,4'C) thanks for helping me! =)

If you cant figure out a way to make your computer run around 45c, you shouldn't try overclocking.
