if we are like ten times smaller than then, we can only make them do it to some extent, so like 50 percent of it is the horse willing to do this for the rider. if they didn't like it you would know because they wouldn't be doing it.
I got to ride a dressage horse that was trained in Denmark when i went up to PA during the summer. He was AMAZING! I give credit to these riders. You can not steer with your hands at ALL. It's all legs. Way diferent then western riding. The horse i rode is going to the 2012 olympics. Way way way different then western. My cousin had to teach me how to steer him.. It was a challenge but well worth it.
In your opinion horse racing is. Just because thats what people may classify it, doesn't make racing the sport of kings in my eyes.. What is there to that sport, breed, luck and a well balanced jockey? Dressage deserves the classification more in my eyes. Hence why it's in there.! Haha.

@oxNoroLimAsfalothxo well i dont know how many kings put themselves into the heat of battle during the classical period(Napoleon i guess could count but he was emperor not king?), but dressage certainly is the sport of soldiers ;)
