@BigAngeloSantorini NO ! Fiat Punto 2 was first and safest car in class in that time. (4 stars). FIAT is one of the best in the car safety. All Fiats after Punto 2 have 4 or 5 stars on crash tests.
You must also remember that FIAT was in BIG financial crisis.

Oh dear, I have a 1991 1.4 AGT, but I look after it very much. Never mind it was bad in terms of safety, I think we agree that the Tipo was a great car to drive, at least that's what I think of it. I am never going to get rid of it, anyway.

The front was all crumble zone . But it was buld in 1990 and much safer as Ford Escort, Mercedes 190

Concordo. Nei primi anni 90 si stava sempre di più evolvendo il concetto di sicurezza. La concorrenza all'epoca era un gradino più su (Golf ad esempio) ma di certo non chiacciante. Non si devono paragonare quei risultati a quelli odierni. Non ha senso.
Appunto non è mica male, oltre commentare il fallimento della rover dovrebbero commentare anche i crash test di quei cessi del cazzo; avranno anche jaguar e rolls roice ma noi non ce le abbiamo maserati, ferrari e magari anche alfa? ma che vadano a cagare pezzi di sterco suino!!!
vi ricordo che la classe A, a fine anni '90, fallì il test dell'alce.. credo sia più vergognoso fallire QUEL test con QUEL tipo di auto in QUEL periodo lì piuttosto che fare un crash test da 2 stelle con un'auto costruita quando gli standard di sicurezza erano molto discutibili (nonostante questo già aveva gli airbag!).. ergo, non offendiamo troppo la fiat. ha passato un brutto periodo ma adesso si è risollevata. credo che il suo "debito" verso gli italiani l'abbia già sanato da tempo.

I had a crash in tipo, car was looking like that one on the video after the crash. I dint have airbags, but nothing happened to me, not a single scratch.
I think its very safe considering that its an old car.
I had one Tipo 1400. It had no airbag and no accident with it. I don't know about the passive security but concerning the active security, it was a good car! Don't forget that the Fiat Tipo is 20 years old!
