  • I know! Let's connect the famous name "John Cage" with our unimaginative and cliche band!!!!

  • @RandomCriticsify

Uh, this is STEREOLAB who just might be the most critically acclaimed band of the past 20+ years.

  • @Knepperify1

Thank you for keeping it friendly regarding my opinion about the song titled, John Cage Bubblegum. My composer name is FLYING CLOUD NINE.

Google: "FLYING CLOUD NINE on SoundCloud".

  • This song kiks ass!

  • SUPERB

  • my first stereolab song then

    absoluite delight

    a friendship for life

  • I searched this band cause tyler the creator mentions stereolab

  • Comment removed

  • i was all alone in my head until i heard this

  • this is great, as Stereolab always were.

Hey good job that idiot hasn't jumped in to tell us all where they got it from... have you seen that: 'sterolab - origins, parts 1 - 16'? what wank.

  • MASTERS....

  • nao consigo deixar de ouvir isto

    cant stop listining

    great theme from STL

  • John Cage was the best.

  • C'est le plus beau et c'est le plus triste paysage du monde".

  • "like hawkwind but for girls"

The best quote i think ive ever heard!

  • @MeenGMeenie - wouldn't that be Electrelane then? lol

  • @TseTseFlyMan i mean hawkwind's good, but electrelane is much better. and stereolab? well, we just dont have a category high enough for them.

  • I Love this version, different from the one on the Refried Ectoplasm CD. Does anyone know if this version exists on a CD? Thanks!

  • This was taken from their live at the bbc album.

  • Like Hawkwind, but for girls to get into, this is brilliant

  • Hahahaha. That's cheered me up.

  • @KarmicAnarchist

Hawkind's a good possibility, yet I'm also thinking of The Modern Lovers as well. Great name for a song, it juxtaposes the disposable and the avant garde into something postmodern.

  • This is my favorite Stereolab song. I love it.

  • I find it very hard to pick a favorite.

  • I don't. This song means a lot to me. I love it. I can be in the worst mood then I listen to this and it's like the sun just came out.

  • @jacob7207 ***** - kent von severin los angeles

  • Imaginary Landscape 4

  • Thanks my friend for this video.

  • I wish they would do this sound for 8' or so, like Hawkwind, Kraftwerk, or t Velvets and cut out t space age bachler pad, Serg Gansburg sounds.

  • good lord. this song fries my brain.

  • As usual, listening to Mary in the background makes us miss her that much more! :'(

  • really its more like hawkwind. stick a sax on it and lift the bass up a bit, drop the french vocals and err... ok maybe it's not like hawkwind.

  • Lovely track.. Have to say that I love the sound of a Jaguar!

  • very kraftwerk!

  • not kraftwerk at all...

  • maestros. the best band ever

  • Never realized how much this song sounds like the Velvet Underground! An obvious influence of the band.

  • Of course, we fans know that around this time the lab could be better at "rock" than anyone of the time (oasis for example ). Their genius is in their versatility.Thumping

  • too right!! Stereolab are awesome when it comes to decent song writing. oasis are piss poor in comparison. In fact i dont see what the great attraction is in them. Average pub rock band at best!!

  • this rules ....many thanx

  • I love everything they do.

  • maxpoweresp... puto friki de mierda, q a q no sabeis q significa inglesitos eh?o gabachos, lo q sean estos tipos. maxpoweresp is the gayest in the worllllldddddddd

  • bnt gay

  • I never knew this existed. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

  • so good!!! thanks for posting, Stereolab are the best band of the last 15 years!! Beautiful!!

  • Oh!!!!

  • LOVE the song.

LOVE the song this is about.

    LOVE Laetitia.

    etc.

  • tell me more about the song that this is about!

  • "C'est le plus beau et c'est le plus triste paysage du monde". That's all the lyrics - it's taken from the book The Little Prince by St. Exupery and means "it's the most beautiful and saddest landscape in the world."

  • thanks britfolkgod for this insight - i love singing along with stereolab especially to motoroller scalatron.

    Thanks again!

  • Same here! Love motoroller scalatron singalong

  • taken from the book? oi, I didn't think it possible, but I may have based my judgement on a coincidence.

the song is called "John Cage Bubblegum", and the lyrics translated to, as mentioned... I thought the song MUST be referring to John Cage's 'in a landscape', which would be perfectly, perfectly described by the lyrics.

  • stereolab rules!

  • i LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH !!!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaww!

    cheers for posting this one!

    ahhhh, Refried Ectoplasm...

    merci!
