I'm really interested in learning the concept behind this, is reason sending audio pulses? are you using a midi to dinsync converter or somehow converting audio to din?
my bad I just noticed the blog link, very very interesting this is. I've been using ableton to send tape sync for a while but this looks like it might have some advantages.
This is a bit different than sending FSK sync from an audio track. Signal generators in Reason are sending DC control voltages out the MOTU interface like they would in Volta.
Someone posted a video on sending DC signals in ableton. Provided you're using a compatible MOTU interface, this should also be possible. You would need to dedicate two outputs and two channels in Live. Maybe I'll give this a try to see how the pulse signals would work as clips.
I'm aware of the whole CV from Live thing as I use it for my modular. this is the first I've heard of the Audio-Din sync concept and it fascinates me. I really like what he was doing with repeatedly starting and stopping in rhythm. excellent stuff right there.
Initially I had problems with routing Matrix Note CV signals through Thor to Audio. The calibration behaved differently than the Thor Step Sequencer. However, routing CV/Gate into Thor, then relaying Key Note CV to Audio worked perfectly.
Oh, the madness is just beginning. I'm still in the honeymoon stage with this technique. I need to start doing something more substantial than noodling around and posting videos.
well, i was looking around on eBay for used MOTU firewire interfaces, and old 828s are pretty cheap. One auction started at $.99. Not sure if it would close at that price, but i'm sure there are deals out there.
303s are another story :) x0xb0x kits are a good alternative. check out ladyada•net
Really? The 202 is like a 101 and in a lot of ways far more versatile than the 303. IMO it's about as easy to program as the 303. Definitely checked out some of the other 202 YT vids.
Cool trick.
I really like that '202 line when its slow.

great work ! thanks for your posting.
i've been watching your other posting...
i wonder, in this kind of setup, always have to use Thor polysynth...
without Thor, Can i send Matrix CV signal to any hardware analog gear??

Man I'm getting jealous. I started looking at 303s and Motus and realized I am a broke ass. So unfortunately I'll have to stay in the box.
