I tried your method and here are the pros and cons:

+yummy

+easy to make

-does not taste in any way like chai latte

-way to sweet (ill have a bit less sugar next time)

I love your method, I've been trying to make a decent chai at home as well but I will not go buy fancy equipment just for one hot beverage I happen to adore hehe.

Why not heat the milk up all the way with the frother? Or does it not really heat up the milk. You might also want to try adding cinnamon to the top of the foam for a nice garnish and additional flavor.
