@TheVirtualsniper do you even know how to paint candy you dipshit. There is a difference when you paint with a black basecoat, silver basecoat, and gold basecoat. Then the red candy coat is laid on top for the red but transparent look. Black basecoat gives a different under tone shine. Check out HOK website or TCPGlobal you n00b

@digitaltitan House of Kolor recommends a BLACK base coat prior to spraying the Shimrin Orion Silver as the final underlying base coat, which ultimately give the "pop" under the candy apple (transparent) red. This is a true candy job...not their line of "candy base coats" which are a KBC prefix in the code number.

@digitaltitan The answer is "YES".....you are correct. Gray sealer went down first, then black base coat, then Shimrin Orion Silver, then stripes and flakes, then about 8 coats of candy red, then 3 wet coats of clear. And yes.......your arm does get tired applying all of those coats in one afternoon. Thanks. Don't go too heavy on the red....it will dry about 3 shades darker than you think......so don't get crazy with making it "deep" red......because it will start to get too dark!!!!

@lovelyvendetta Hey thanks! Yep, that CD came out in 2001, she bought the car 2 years earlier and had an accident with it at the time of the paint job. The car was white, and this custom job just evolved into a "birthday present" from her father. She was just finishing her engineering degree at the time. When she saw it completed she wished she would have bought a brand new Camaro and had this paint job on it. I had the video yet, and knew it had to be between 1999-2001.....
