ok, first why in the fuck are you callin me an idiot? i asked a question about the eastern twang and then stated a fact about a song, that was recorded by the regents in 61 then by the beach boys in 65. so how is it that , that those two things make me an idiot.
sorry but hey dumbshit look at the views for this vid then look at the others one asshole haha wow you just got it up the ass. does it hurt to sit down?
Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Richard Dreyfuss, Suzanne Somers, Harrison Ford...George Lucas was barely out of film school when he made this flick and he was already using his trick of hiring mostly young unknowns.
Ron Howard and Wolfman Jack were the only cast members who were known at that time.
Lucas would repeat the formula for "Star Wars"; (mostly young) unknowns anchored by Peter Cushing and Sir Alec Guiness.
BTW, the song was named after a real person; Barbara Ann Fassert, little sister to Fred, who wrote the song, and Chuck, a member of the group.
It was their warm-up number and they were working on a ballad one day in '58 and found they still had 10 minutes left on their session so they cranked this baby out.
However, the song wasn't released until '61, after the group broke up.
The song was a hit, they regrouped and didn't make it to the end of the '60s.

I really love what can be heard from 2:14 to 2:30. xD
Well, it's just an extremely bad joke: this song is a nostalgic, good classic theme. ;D

Save for very few exceptions The original is always the best version
vincenz55 3 years ago
this is an exception in my opinion. Blind Guardian did the most ridiculous cover of it.
Here:
v=crMMBAdlZ4c
put that in in place of the "v=iUghPkBXLIc" in the url of this video. it's seriously an awesome cover.

I wonder if it's because he's cheap. After all, the original "Star Wars" only cost $10 million to make. And that was cheap even in the '70s.

Love that wailin' sax solo.
