Also, about the head, the CDI motors and points motors both use a 28t cam sprocket so they interchange as long as you don't use the long camshaft for the models with ignition on the cam.
For the softtail Z50, i would not suggest a 20mm carb on a 72cc motor. It will be way overcarbed and it will suck in low RPMs. Trust me, my street legal Z50 has that combination but it sucks. I'm looking for a 17mm carb and I suggest you do the same, you will be much happier with the results. Thanks for the reference btw.
i still got the xr400, im rebuilding the motor, i just got no money right now, im just going to take one step at a time, and have it done in about one year or less.
