running around give the game a illusion of progression, like your getting better as the game goes on even though you are only like level 10 so by level 20 with more spells and abilitys even though you dont have them all you still feel the desire to keep going because you want to progress. A common theme to mmos makes them addicting andfun but also make you put more cash into them. which is why i love them :D
