  • do you usually do some variation of the bench press every two days, either dynamic or max effort?

  • @1aspirefit

Sort of...every 2 or 3 days, depending on how I feel. I was only benching twice a week for most of the spring and summer, so the increased frequency works for now. I listen to my body and go from there...

  • wow those sets looked rather easy.. you couldve finished all sets wit 330 then 335 for the 6th set.. i like how ur going up slow.. maintain that strength man! surpass all ur goals!

  • @PowerlifterTy16

Thanks T. Hopefully lots of good things to come this fall...

  • i think your doing a superb job, keep it up!

  • @sebastiancish

    Thanks - I appreciate that.

  • @BRETZERR your welcome mate, this by the way is that other person that used to comment on your profile by the name of voicefulmarlin. I got rid of the old profile and just made a new one with my proper picture and name. STAY FIT mate

  • That 330 was easy man, way to start conservative though, you sir have got major skills.

  • @murphy0847

Yeah, 330 lbs felt pretty good there (I actually did a 7th set with 340 lbs to see how that felt - it was quite a bit harder). We'll see...no rush...just going to slowly get heavier. Thanks though!

  • Strong lifts Randy!

  • @jplift

Thanks JP. Feels good to get back into the bench a little bit...it'll take a bit more time for my strength to come back fully, but so far so good.

  • those looked easy, defo capable of 330 for 5 singles. In fact i think you could hit 335 for 5 next week, but safer to stick to 330. You don't want tobe burning out.

  • @franco18grant

Yeah, we'll see next week. 330 lbs is the plan...I am taking my time getting back into the heavier weights on the bench so that I don't kill my CNS. 380 lbs felt good the other day and 330 on the incline felt good today. I don't want to push it too hard too fast. I actually did 340 lbs as a 7th set just to see how it felt...just didn't record it.

We'll see how it goes from here...slow and steady. Funny enough, the hardest feeling rep was the 315 lb warm up!

  • how come ive never seen you fail a rep at bench press?

  • @steventar

Ha, ha...good question. Probably because I am not doing a lot of max effort work on the bench to help conserve my CNS. Plus, I don't normally post my fails...but trust me, they happen.

  • Nice work Randy! Getting big on the lifts and size, can't wait to see you hit 405.

  • @IncredibleHulkRobert

Thanks bro - my goal is 405 lbs (long-term) on the inclines...that would be pretty cool. We'll see I guess...

  • still killin the weights mann. awesome

  • @bigplayray09

Slowly strengthening up on the incline...the goal is 375 lbs before the end of the year and 405 lbs (long-term). We'll see if that happens...ha, ha...

    Thanks man!

  • realy power! great work

    pls say song name

  • @TheNALSUR

Thanks bro - much appreciated. "The Night" by Disturbed.

  • awesome job randy! i wonder how long your body will let you do these heavy singles for before you burn out..? I'm trying to figure it out myself w/close grip bp

i'd say you had 335 in the bag

  • @j0540212

Thanks Josh. We'll see I guess...this aren't real heavy singles though, considering they are off my best weight of 365 lbs by quite a bit. This is more volume work at this stage. I would guess I am probably around 350 lbs for a fresh single at the moment...

Funny you should say 335 lbs...as I was receiving your comment I was doing an extra rep on the incline with 340 lbs (just to get a feel for something a little heavier)...ha, ha...it was a tough rep though.

  • Excellent work Randy!

  • @HHH396

Thanks Mark. Slowly getting heavier...330 lbs next time out...

  • Great video bro. soon you be hiting 405#.

  • @heavybows

Thanks man - my best incline thus far is 365 lbs, but 405 lbs is my longer term goal for sure. I would love to hit 4 plates on the incline...
