IIRC, if you either die or bomb at the last part of the battle. It Triggers the boss' Invincibility Frames, I think it's called an 'Anti-bomb' Shield.

Maybe...Just MAYBE, now that Aksys Games has released Cave's Deathsmiles in the US, we MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT have a chance at getting DDP Dai Fukkatsu, or Muchi Muchi Pork, or even Pink Sweets...shit or KETSUI released in the States too.

Everyone needs to do their duty and buy 2 copies of Deathsmiles...consider it a vote for Cave to localize more games, or allow it.

Man, still cool to watch after all this time. Ketsui really had some of the best music Namiki ever wrote. The only thing that comes close is DOJ, to my ears. And guess what, that's because he wrote them one right after the other :P

The BGM is very similar with Dodonpachi Daioujou's hibachi battle music. This boss seems tougher than hibachi, but weaker than hibachi-kai ( 2 bees ).

I think Evaccania Doom is way harder than Hibachi, since its bullet patterns are completely random. Even if you could predict how the bullets move exactly, you cant predict the way Evac movement will react

It's harder than it looks. Also there's no way the player can practise the boss and it takes over 40 minutes to reach it. Not to mention it's one of the hardest tasks in any shooting game to survive all the way through the harder loop of Ketsui all the way to doom.

Nope, you'd have to buy the arcade board which costs something like 1'000$. Or wait for the Xbox360 version, but that will work only on JP Xbox360 consoles.

Guru dumped the game, according to his to-do list. Of course, unless a MAMEDEV gets around to extracting CAVE's custom bios and integrating both it and the encryption in the PGM driver, it's game over for emulation - and all those lovely gfx enhancements in MAME.

I have a J360, but I was way too horrified by DOJ Extra to even think of buying anything else from 5pd.

2-Cave requested MAMEDEV to not port Ketsui, since its a loss of money. While this hasnt been a problem for pretty much every emu, it'll take a while for us to get emued Ketsui

3-MonkeyMan cant do extra mode Ketsui DS, and i doubt he could clear it, the DOOM there is the current hardest Cave TLB :(

Wait until about 2015 and check again, probably. Most likely the graphics (in scrolling and the enormous amount of bullets) and the music (better-quality instruments) is the reason why emulation is really hard.

PCB games have been dumped before. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that the MAME team was actually asked not to emulate any of their PCB games. You can see that Bee Storm is half emulated, but won't even be worked on for a while now.

There is a Ketsui dump out there, and probably a Dai Ou Joi one, as well, but they're not in circulation because of the fact that there's no reason for them to exist yet.

Or if they would just port it to the US properly we could play it and pay them for it. Not so much the issue of MAME support, its an issue of avaliblity v/s cost for the average joe as well. Regular game price is fine and I own a lot of titles, but this genre in particular is cast away by the US market, so it costs fans of our games an arm and a leg to enjoy them.
