it did fly! get your facts straight before insulting the ingenuity of others! as for stealth: of course today's radar would detect it, but remeber that this jet was up against the very first versions of radar technology. northrop grumman tested it and found it quite stealthy. and as it is made of metal it could not be stealthed , even by the Technology of WW2, and it would be up against not the first generation of Radar but the Brit Invented 10 Cm range
you go read about this! it was mainly made of wood. as for the rest: are you talking about the northrop grumman mock up? sure, this one didn't have real engines and controls etc. but the real prototype did. it made four test flights in which in outperformed the Me 262 (the first jet fighter) in a simulated dog fight. unfortunately it crashed during the fourth test flight due to an engine failure (see, an ENGINE) killing the pilot.

Still an interesting theory but if it was to be "Stealth" the signiture of the METAL engines would have given it away, even today the modern Stealths F-117 and B-2 arent Stealth, they only give off the signature of a small flock of birds and can be and have been picked up by British Army Rapier......
