  • that thing sounds like a piano..LIKE IF YOU STAY WITH CLASSIC GUITAR!!!

    \

  • @Alejo17000 How did you found out that IT SOUNDS LIKE A PIANO SHERLOCK!

  • What is this? Like guitar?

  • This is the MIDI controller Yamaha EZ-AG. In the right side strings, on the neck - buttons. And connected to Kontakt software.

  • @Algis10 How much does it cost?

  • In 2005 in Dublin I pay 300 euros. Now I don't know, need to look in Ebay or Yamaha sites.

  • @Algis10 Okay, I might get the Misa Kitana.

  • Making a guitar sound like a piano, love it

  • How did you get that top G? 1:14

  • Hello, I move note G in Kontakt to another position.

  • Beautiful, especially considering you are using MIDI - very original sounding. I'm going to look this piece up now... :)

  • I really like how this sounds, maybe this can inspire musicians to transcribe guitar music for other instruments, turning things around a bit. :D

  • Great work!

  • Оно и быстро и медленно хорошо звучит. И даже на midi-гитаре.

  • Please use a classical guitar for music like this. Listen to the electric guitar version of the four seasons. It's rotten, but thanks for not putting distortion on :)

  • @markusboyd3 , yes, I agree. Just was interesting to try MIDI.

  • Yes, I have. I used Kontakt software, and change MIDI input sensitivity. Basic bottom level is 1, I select higher. I don't know which software You used.

  • I have the same guitar. I have a problem with double sounds - one after I touch the fret keys and another one after I pluck the strings. Did you have that same problem? If you did how did you fix it?

  • Hows does violin sound through this?

  • Hello,

all sounds are VSTi from computer. Guitar just send MIDI commands to Kontakt software, not used internal sounds.

  • @Algis10 hello. with this guitar, there are TRACKING problems as a roland gk3?

  • @ersemola hello,

I don't try GK3. With Yamaha no problems with tracking, but now on the neck are buttons, would be better strings.

  • hi, one can add sounds to this guitar or not? i mean there are 20 sounds (guitars, bass,piano..) but can i add more?? and how pliz. The sound you have it extremely great

  • Hello, yes, You can add sounds Used MIDI output connect to computer (MIDI - USB cable or soundblaster gameport) with MIDI software (like Kontakt), and used VSTi sound banks.

  • It is so awesome. Thanks.

  • Invisible Frets hahahaha

  • Incredible sound. . .

  • beautiful

  • i clicked on this video after watched YouRockGuitar for xbox 360 :>

  • how well does it respond to tracking? can you play fast using velocity playing hard and soft?

  • Excellent - if you composed this.....TRULY EXCELLENT...Go do some more!!

  • non approvo...lasciatelo fare ai pianisti :P

  • I have one of these. I am trying to get it to control midi on my computer, but it is not working. Any idea why? I am using a generic midi cable. When I plug it in the computer recognises a change in the number of midi inputs and a driver downlaods, but then...no sound.

  • hauntingly beautiful. Im not familiar with this piece do you have tab?

  • what cable must be used to connect to pc or mac and is it available easy and has this guitar the output midi to connect ot a computer or you have to create it for your self let me know

  • Gutiar have MIDI output. Connect with standart MIDI cable.

  • thanks so much and where did you buy it because it is impossible to find one in all Europe - did you buy it 5 years ago may be because now you can buy it only in USA or CAnada let me know

  • Hello, i buy in Dublin "Argos" shop.

  • Maybe You can try to find Yamaha EZ-EG, or Casio DG-20 (but not DG-10 ! In this no MIDI output)

  • thanks so much for advise about dg10 has no midi output

  • Bog standard 5-pin DIN MIDI cable.

  • how do you connect to pc or mac - I hear it is hard to find the right cable - is it true - le us know -

  • @thetubemoralist Bog standard 5-pin DIN MIDI cable

  • is this a built in sound or a midi sample?

  • Hello, i play live. Connected through MIDI card to PC (VSTi Kontakt).

  • that's great but can I use this with software instruments in garage band?

  • yes.

  • Yes, if You have standart MIDI input.

  • like a tascam midi interface?

  • that was beautiful. those whistling sounds added a nice, kind of haunting quality to it.

  • giuliani studies are ment for classical guitar, not piano. why? cause u cant hear suspensions as well on a piano compared to guitar

  • nice. now you can actually buy a real guit... piano.

  • dunno but finally guitarists can play piano xD

without having to get used to one.

  • @NastyGreaser they really ant that hard to do i can play both and i taught myself (even if i suck at both)

  • I wonder where I can buy this stuff

  • sloow!!

  • midi guitar.. cool!!

  • cool guitar

  • wat is that

  • This is MIDI guitar Yamaha EZ-AG (MIDI controller)

  • So beautiful man !! I'm impressed ! How do you plug that guitar : in an amp or via USB or else ?

  • Thank you, plug via MIDI (soundblaster MIDI input), and used VST instruments software Kontakt.

  • Thank you. Does it work if I plug it in a classic guitar amp ?

  • Yes, EZ-AG have output to amplifer, but then You will have only few sounds from guitar, and can't to use VST instruments. Better to use MIDI output to computer, and from computer to amp.

  • thas awesome. how much does it cost? plz nswer

  • Thank You, MIDI guitar Yamaha EZ-AG, in 2005 in Argos i have pay 300 euros, now in Yamaha website i saw - 200 dollars.

  • man that is cool. what sort of guitar are you playing, it sounds like a piano

  • Thank You, this is MIDI guitar EZ-AG with VST instruments software.

  • lol you should work on youre lighting with chromakey..

  • Hey, take it easy there Pablo, of course this is not the piano sound that comes with the EZ-AG, he is using this guitar to drive a VST software based instrument -- or he could be using a hardware synth like the Proteus. This is exactly what I wanted the axon to do, but a real guitar has a hell of a lot of limitations driving midi that the yamaha doesn't. Nicely done, Algis, and thanks for posting this!

  • Thank You!

  • bullshit... i have this exact same guitar, and the piano sound is not that good trust me... it does have a piano sound but the sound you are hearing here is beyond amazing of what it really sounds like..

  • Hello, i used VSTi software Kontakt on PC, and EZ-AG only MIDI output, not sounds ( you can attach different instruments, and few instruments to every string or note). Internal sounds is no good.

  • wow.. i never thought i would see this. its pretty amazing. i play both guitar and piano for quite some time. im impressed not only with this guitar but the player.

  • Comment removed

  • wow!!!!!!!! increible como suena!!

  • mauro,, felicidades no creo que entiendas español,, pero tocas lindo en verdad

  • Mauro es el nombre del compositor. Mauro Giuliani

  • Bravo! Very nice! I'd like to know if the piano sound is in a internal synth of the guitar or is it in Kontakt software? Is that guitar just a MIDI controller? Thanks

  • what song is that?

  • Mauro Giuliani, Etude No5

  • great vid and great tool ;) thanks for it

  • Cool vid mate. I just ordered one of these axes and now I can't wait!

  • bue...

  • It's difficult to believe that anyone who actually plays a guitar wouldn't appreciate such instruments unless they were idiots. Forbidding guitarists not proficient in keyboard the advantages of one is just as ridiculous as forbidding keyboardists the use of guitar sampling. If it's not 'real' enough then I would condemn electric guitarists just as readily for not playing an acoustic.

  • Well people, who say it is not what Giuliani Etude 5 performance should be I will say that it is more like a tribute and and should not be compared with classical performance, that is something completely different.

  • thats me

  • I enjoyed this alot !

I wondered about buying one of these for midi to tab for fingerstyle guitar. This seems like a terrific way to go in that way? how can I go past the 12 th fret ???

Thanks for any help. Again - Love that sound !

  • Thank You.

No, You can't go past 12th fret. In Kontakt software i change note on 1st string 11th fret to higher (like 14 fret). You can see on video i take 11th fret, but sound is higher than 12th. Acoustic guitar with MIDI pickup (RMC, or Bonotron) is better way.

  • Nice -

  • Obviously some mixed opinions here - I'm a classical guitarist myself and I can get past my ego enough to say this is fucking cool!

    Nice brutha!

  • Hello, no mix, i swear. Plaing through computer NI instruments.

  • i don't get it???

  • Dude this is awesome..for those of you who lack appreciation...this is for a D.Y.I. recording artist who plays guitar and wants piano in his recording without having to hire someone, one question, can you patch any VSTi into it or is the piano built in midi?

  • the guitar have a midi output

    mfg jack

  • Hello, any VSTi, because it have MIDI output (first string - 1 MIDI channel, second - 2 MIDI channel, ..... )

  • this is an EZAG guitar, it's intended for learning to play the instrument, not to a profesional instrument, altought he is obviously not a novice and it's a nice piece of gear

  • i dunno about anyone else, but i think it actually has a pretty great piano sound ... i dunno if i would buy it, i probably just use a 6 way pick up for my electric and go midi, but i think its kind of cool..

  • One of the most retarded things I've read all day. So by your standards, someone who plays on a electric keyboard as opposed to a traditional piano is a poser? The dude's skill looks pretty solid regardless of instrument choice. Learn to be less n00b plox.

  • perhaps he can only play the guitar and wanted a piano sound. If you are angry that you can't play any instruments why not pick up a guitar yourself.

  • nice tribute to beethoven's moonlight, thanks!

  • omg its a real guitar hero guitar!

  • It´s not a "guitar hero" guitar

  • I like it, but I prefer to play it a bit faster ;)

    That's my choice ^^

    Great Job :)

    Greets,,

    Eddy

  • sweet background lol

  • its the dude from spinal tap

  • hahaha

  • Great Video!!!

  • does anyone know how to switch your ez-ag to left handed????

  • that background is pretty uncalled for but thats definately how to use this thing the right way buddy... congrats

  • Can this actually be used to play a virtual piano or strings? I have Mixcraft, which has VSTA instruments. Will this work with those?

  • Hello, I think will work.

  • Hi, do you know how to change the mode, I know the default mode is 3, butI don't know how you change it, can you help me please.

    Luke.

  • Hello, Your question about lesson mode? I don't used lesson mode.

  • Fantastic!

  • I want one of ths, its like good, when u play instrumental..

  • I think this sounds really cool...It sounds really nice played at a slower speed also.

i say shine on... you crazy diamond.

  • hahaha lol

come on, don't be that rude with the guy

  • cool Instrument..good job..

  • shit of guitar.... you can't play guitar and if you want to play piano, why don't you buy a piano??

  • you think he cant play guitar.. are you crazy (yes you are) hes finger picking and playing the music using guitar voicing..

  • does anyone know if this guitar can be used left handed...I thought maybe there might be a switch on it to change the tuning or if not does anyone know where I could buy a left handed one.

  • Dont think there's a switch to do that but a possible solution could be to use a soft synth like hyperion which is very quick and simple to tune each string exactly how you want.

  • Lefty! it does not make any sense to flip the guitar strings, if you do so you will lose skills since your faster hand is the left one, that the hand where you need top have speed...righties, we are in disadvantage when learning guitar for that reason...

  • I agree, being left handed on a guitar is an advantage. I just wish somebody made left handed keyboards!!

  • a left handed piano? are you retarded?

  • No. Are you? Never heard of a left handed piano? Try googling it.

  • the japanese kill left handed people, they dont make this left handed =[[ i just got it today

  • HOW DO YOU BEND IN THAT SHIT? :D

  • insane..nice amaziiinnng play..

  • q boludeces inventan hoy en dia

  • excelent man!! beautiful sound and tone!!

  • ofmg Yamaha sucks

  • amazing video

  • Great piano sound.

  • (mittens) can you do hammer-ons and pull-offs?

  • Hello, no, because i cut sensitivity. If you used with normal sensitivity - you can, but it hear and when you put fingers on the frets. I don't like it, because you hear double sound.

  • nice try on the Green screen, but your shadow counts too.

  • Wild!

  • Well played! And nice piano-guitar :))

  • Too slow.

  • Impressive rendition Algis, cool.

How do you achieve such a clean performance with the EZ AG ?

I mean: i just got a EZ EG (the electric guitar version) and when i fret, the guitar makes notes.

If i wanna arpeggiate a bar chord, i first hear the fretted chord, before i even hit a note with my right hand. That s kinda very annoying, even if i m playing very clean and articulate.

So I always have that sonic "polution" before i actually pick the notes.

    Tell me ;)

  • Thank You, clean sound is, because i play through PC, and used software Kontakt2 and audio driver ASIO. In Kontakt2 You can to cut sensitivity of MIDI IN. When level of note is lower what You fix - no signal.

  • Thanks Algis.

I should have guessed it: you re not using the internal sounds on the video !!!

I thought the EZ AG sounds were better than the ones in the EZ EG ;)

You dont seem to have much latency though, great work !

    Keep on...

  • hey, this is really cool ;-)

    cheers

    HG Fortune

  • Thank You,

i don't used EZ-AG sound, only MIDI output. I think is the same AG, or EG if you used computer.

  • Nice, man.

Do you use this to make MIDI programming?

  • Thank You, no programming, playing live.

  • Right. I've watched other videos from you. :)

My question was, if it's possible to use this guitar to program...

  • Yes, guitar output - MIDI.

  • Good.

Congratulations for you videos! See ya.

  • Wait, there's something wrong... isn't that a guitar? ;D That's so strange. It actually sounds much like piano playing a lot of the time.

  • Hi, this is Yamaha EZ-AG MIDI guitar. Yes, sound is piano and synthesizer.

  • Yeah, I was just joking about it. Cool thing. I usually do it the other way around, playing a keyboard which sounds like a guitar :).

  • :))

  • Really nice!
