  • Where can I buy 3-pin connectors on their own? (In the UK)

  • My fan is not moving when i put it in the motherboard correctly, help please.

  • Does that fix a fan that has lights going solid but will not span. I suspect lost connection somewhere. It's not an Antec it's TT so their are not a fan builder to begin with. Can it be fixed?

  • i have a 4 pin connector and i want to know can i replace it to usb.

  • mine only has a red and a black cable

  • great stuff man, at least I found your video, I was just goin to pull the wires out and hope for the best but luckily I found your video. Thank you

  • I'm kind of a noob when it comes to power supply units...so will it be ok for me to connect 3 x 140mm fans to my power supply unit? which is actually just a standard ATX type PSU...it's not really like the ones you see on youtube..I was wondering if my standard atx could handle this..

  • HELP!!! Is it safe to connect a 3 pin fan to a 4 pin motherboard??!!

  • @dewalt607 Yes as long as you line it up right with the small tab there no problems. Only thing the 4-pin has that 3-pin does not is a PWM function.

  • Can you tell me what the different wires are/do?

  • @tom1161 Power,ground,RPM lead

  • i have a fan that has a 3 pin connecter like that WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO CONNECT IT TO

i thought it was supposed to go into the PSU

  • @struggle375 Use a 3 pin to molex adapter or plug it into motherboard header for 3/4 pin cables.

  • @RickArter they dont sell em anywhere and im not going to spend $3 on something online....

  • stop scream !

  • How to add an on/off switch to the led`s on a coolermaster megaflow 200mm fan?

  • @Megaforce405 Think you can just add a switch to the negative side of what ever wires feeds all the leds.

  • Can i just cut the wire with a knife and connect it to a battery???

  • @saidpour676 Think a 9v will actually work on some fans but why would you?

  • Good vid. Very informative

  • thanks for the help! i had to do this with a 3-pin connector fan i used to replace the 4-pin stock fan in my xbox 360 slim.

  • I readed the motherboard manual and it shows that i only have connectors for a cpu fan, 2case fans and a power supply fan.

Im planning to get an h70 liquid cpu cooler so the cpu fan connector isnt available becouse of the water pump.

What 2 connectors should i use to connect the 2 radiator fans?

    Thanks

  • Hey there. I have heard that it's possible to integrate fans onto other fans via splicing the wires together. Is it possible you could go through a tutorial of this for nubs like me? Very few fan connectors on my mobo and need to add a few more. Or is there another simpler way to get more fans going in my case?

  • nice:D and soooo much easier than my usual method of holding each little plastic piece with a tiny screwdriver until i can wiggle out the metal pieces one at a time. lol

somehow even though i've been repairing/building/upgrading/troubleshooting pc's for myself and others for years, i've *still* managed to miss so many little things like this that would have made life SO much easier at times.

i appreciate you putting videos like this up cause there's always more to learn;)

  • Do they still sell those 3pin connector remover tools? I was trying to look for it on newegg.

  • 3 pin have a speed controller

  • well !

  • Are there wall outlets for these cables?

  • What's the purpose of removing it?

  • @Scott97169 Usually to sleeve or extend a wire.

  • @Scott97169 or to put a different type connector on it

  • Comment removed

  • hm nothing special..

  • i would say that this is a great video but considering that the magical '3 pin connector remover' makes life so much fucking easier and theyre nigh on impossible to source it makes this video pointless and annoying.. do a video on removing the 3 pin connector without the 3 pin connector remover, such as a diy option etc that would be more useful..

  • can you have two fans running on one connector?

  • If the amperage of both fans is low enough, yes.

  • @vegetablegod Akasa AK-CB002 PWM Fan Splitter Cable

  • @vegetablegod yeah but the voltage will split so they will run on half RPM

  • @vegetablegod it depends on the amperage of the fans if fan1 amp + fan2 amp < connector maximum amperage you are god to go

  • @vegetablegod Yeah, i had a pair of 50mm fans wired together

  • @vegetablegod yes

  • @vegetablegod if u know what your doing then yes but the fans will only run at half speed.

  • excellent how-to, keep them coming. 5/5

  • Good vid!

  • Good vid, 5/5

  • Nice Bro 5/5

  • I marked my 8pin CPU connector the same way. Except I used large pieces of tape and coundn't get the sleeving over it. I banged my head on the desk a couple of times for that one.

    Great video. 5/5

  • Good vid! 5/5

  • nice vid =]

  • what's the use of this video actually, if i dont have those special tool thingys then its useless, it would be useful video if its ''how to remove bla-bla-bla without special tools etc.'', if someone would already own these tools then he/she has to be pretty stupid if he/she couldnt use them and have to watch how to videos

  • lol

  • you can use a paper clip if you don't have this tool. It just makes it a lot easier if your going to do a bunch of sleeveing to purchase the modding extractor kit (4 piece set) for about $20. online.

    Cheers

  • the thing is that this kind of tools arent on sale here in Estonia, atleast havent seen on sale... so the only way to buy it would be ebay

  • Yeah, I hear you, Does Newegg ship to Estonia, they have them for $17.00 US Also I went to Sunbeam and they will tell you where to buy. locate the product on their website and then clip on "where to buy".

    Good luck

I'll be doing a video on sleeveing in the next couple of days, showing how to use a paperclip, lighter and a straw to achieve the same results. subscribe to my channel so you don't miss it.

    Cheers
