Thank you for all the comments! Make sure to turn your computer sound up - lots! Although I don't yell, my breathing is very intense as it was sooo intense, as birth is. I posted this with the intention of inspiring other women to have a calm and relaxed birth, certainly not to show how it should be! Everyone births so differently and so long and feel empowered and are relaxed enough for your baby to come out, it doesn't matter if you exercise your lungs a bit! Kia kaha wahine - Be strong.
That was the most amazing (quiet) birth I have seen and I think I have seen them all!! I have birthed 6 children and your beautiful birth was unreal - Best birth on youtube xx Thanks for sharing.
@mykidlets Thank you. It was so lovely. I really put lots of preparation into creating the best experience I could. Have you seen the Birth as We Know It dvd? Lots and lots of beautiful calm births! My husband just mentioned how much respect he has for someone who can birth and raise 6 children!!! :)
Oh god that first cry melted me! How wonderful! I was all tensed up and hunched over just waiting and waiting for him to get started and when he took his breath i very nearly collapsed! What a beautiful birth. You were so calm even when, at first, he didn't make any noise. I love the way you sucked the mucous from his face! What a primal mumma!! Well done :) xx
@missbecs Thank you. It really was a beautiful experience. Not ideal that our midwife wasn't there. I watched the DVD Birth as we Know it and that is where I noticed that many mothers sucked their babies mouth and nose to help them to clear their airway and breathe. It is a beautiful birth DVD if you ever get a chance to see it. :)
