It's quite interesting watching how drastically you shrink as you put the corset on. . . . It makes me think of something the sales lady said when I went to try on my very first corset. She asked me something along the lines of "how compressable are you?" and then went to grab my by my waist and squished my ribs a little.
Do people vary in compressability? Is there such a thing as someone who *can't* wear a corset due to poor "compressability"?
@MarsellaFyngold Hehe, I like that lady. XD Yes, people vary in compressability. Some very athletic people with a lot of muscle tone and not much adipose tissue will be less compressable than someone with poorer muscle tone and more adipose tissue. Generally speaking, "fluffier" people with waists above 34" are often able to cinch down 6" while more slender people often can only start with about 2" reductions. There are exceptions in both cases, though. :)
@BVW2159 It would probably be painful if I cinched this far without training first, but this was after about 6 months of daily training. When I train I just make sure my waist feels like it's being hugged, but not painfully tight. The body is pretty flexible so over time it responds to the shape of the corset and it doesn't feel snug anymore, so I just lace it maybe 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch more. So it's never been painful. I say if someone is experiencing pain, they're doing something wrong.
@bishonenrancher thats really cool. i wuld never personally do this. id be scared to hurt myself no matter how easy id go. but thats really incredible how the body does that. great job! keep it up :)
@marlu25 Yep! After waist training for about 6 months I started to get more of a natural hourglass shape (not quite as dramatic, just a nice curve) and I lost 1 inch off my waist (from 28 - 27 inches). :)
@98044845 You have to do a lot of research and learn how to do this very slowly and gently so as to prevent injury, but it's totally possible so be healthy and also wear a corset. If you have any specific questions I have a playlist of videos called "physical effects of corseting" where I talk about how corsets can change your physiology and potential things to look out for/prevent when you're waist training. :)
@laniecehoward This can be done with a back lacing corset, in fact I have had problems with this corset and have gotten greater success with a back lacing corset. :) The back lacing ones take a while to get used to lacing, but I prefer them now. :)
For your next sewing tutorial you should say how to make a frontlacing corset. What is the differences between front and back lacing, how to shape a back panel, boning etc... I love your videos by the way...
Do you find it difficult to hide your corset under your clothing? I want to start waist training soon and that's a concern of mine that the corset will show
@Valmen10 I wear a lot of loose tunics, empire-waist shirts, flowy materials etc overtop of my corsets, and of course in the wintertime I wear multiple layers and heavy sweaters so I don't find it difficult to hide the corset, however if you wear very tight shirts it will be more of an issue.
@cgrissim Bezerk corsetry, but he's not making corsets anymore. His wife owns Bound by Obsession corsetry though, you may be able to get a front lacing corset from her. :)
this doesn't look normal....my BF got freaked out and so did my bro...I was just experimenting to see if guys are attracted to this extreemness of a curve to a woman and it was the total opposite...the waist is beyond small and the upper 1/2 is huge compared to it it's just not normal or proportional...then when a woman takes this off and her stomach pretty much explodes out her man will be shocked...just be you and exercise if you think your stomach is chubby...that's not specifically for u btw
quick question...if i really wanted to waist train, i wouldnt have to lace that small as u do after sometime just to get more curves with out a corset right? i hope you know what i mean and i hope that didnt sound like a dumb question but im in the process of researching waist trianing so im new to understanding the process of waist training
@shaniece12341 Hi, you don't have to lace down as small as I do to get a change in your natural waist. After a few months of waist training you may start to notice your natural waist will start to take on a more hourglass shape, but some maintenance is required. I have a vid called "Permanant Waist Reduction" that covers this more. :)
@bishonenrancher im a young person 8th grade ;] so i dont understand why people do this...haha uhmm is it because you want your waist to be smaller or to look good? because no ones waist looks like that..
@XxEpicsausexX It wasn't originally age restricted, some not-very-nice person reported this video as being "self-mutilation" and "not appropriate for children". I've tried to contact Youtube about changing it back, but no luck. :(
@bishonenrancher well that person isn't very smart because this is very educational and i see it as a form of art and it is very beautiful. i'm suprised that youtube would consider this age restricted. there are a ton of other things on here that should be age restricted or banned but aren't because they are considered art, so why is this any different.
@JAMBigE I've searched around for a long time for a front-lacing corset before buying this one and as far as I can tell, these front-lacing ones can only be ordered custom. I haven't tried putting on a corset backwards but intuition tells me it wouldn't be that comfortable, as panels are usually shaped to curve with the contours of the body like the inward slope of the lumbar area of the spine, a little more room in the bottom back for the bum, etc.
@bishonenrancher oh, you bought this one? I must have misunderstood that you make some of your corsets. I didn't know if maybe the small corset (what you call Baby corset?) was small enough to not need anatomical differences front to back. I guess I need to watch the video again, I can't remember why it is important that this one front lace. I saw another video where you tied in back.
@JAMBigE This was the first custom corset I ever bought, about 2 years ago. Now I do sew my own corsets! I have over 30 corsets so the one where I tie in the back is a different corset. Yes, the Baby corset from WKD can technically be worn backwards, but definitely not any long-line corsets!
@bristay1 I don't like the word "fat" but yes, even clinically obese people can wear corsets as long as they have no cardiovascular problems (like high blood pressure) or problems breathing.
@bishonenrancher OKay thank you . ANd sorry about using the "fat" word , i could have used better wording . SO she canwear it ,but can she "train her waist' . sorry if Im asking to many questions. I know it can be annoying when alotf of ppl ask the same questions !
@bristay1 Yes, she can still waist train at a larger size. I have a video called "Plus Size Corseters" which might help answer many of your questions. :)
@TheFlawlessInk Most of the time I wear a shirt overtop of the corset to hide it when I go out in public, so I don't draw attention to myself. In my videos, I wear my corset over a shirt because my channel is mostly based on corseting. However, it's more comfortable to wear a corset if you wear something soft between your skin and the corset, so you don't get friction burns from pulling the laces or sore skin from the pressure.
@eldru89 I have a video called "Corsets and the Reproductive System," I would link it here but links aren't allowed in comments. Do a search for it on Youtube; there I explain more than I ever could in a comment here. :)
@eldru89 A corset does train your waist down but you have to expect some "spring-back" when you take off your corset again. For instance I started with a 28 inch waist naturally and when I got down to 22 inches in my corset, my natural waist was 26 inches. If I corseted down to 20 inches, one may expect my natural waist to be 24 or 25 inches. That's just the way the body works.
@ChezzaRoddis There are many many many places to buy a corset online; I have a whole playlist of corset reviews showing the pros and cons of Leatherotics, Timeless Trends, What Katie Did, and Burleska corsets. Usually when you're just starting out you should get a corset that is 3-4 inches smaller than your natural waistline.
@Xmoeshie147 Thank you! I think I'm probably gonna get one that laces in the back. I have one already but it's not very good quality. I've been practicing tying it on my own and it seems like it gets easier every time I try. Gonna get a better quality corset whenever I can afford it - thank you for answering my question!
Does it make a difference if the corset's tied in the back or the front? What's the difference between corsets that lace in the back and corsets that lace in the front?
very informative thank you... i've started wearing a waist cincher for a few hrs a day and sometimes whn i sleep... its made of rubber and fabric... i know its not as ideal as a custom made one that laces but its all i can afford right now and belive it or not it does shrink me from a 26 1/2 inches to 25..just wondereing if u think i will get any benifit from this??

@bishonenrancher wow no wonder. "brick house!" my ex girl was 32-23-34. i remember once telling her that she'd probably look so amazing with a corset on-- to which she replied "buy me one, and i'll wear it." i was kicking myself later for the fact that i'd never bought her one -_-
@YoBootyStinks It does make your waist naturally smaller but it takes time. There are many other reasons that people corset; I posted a video a week ago called "Breaking the stereotype: why do people corset?" and it explains it better than I ever could in a comment.
Thank you so much for your informative videos . I have corsets that I wear from time to time but I've always been interested in corset training to get my waist back after 3 kids I'm in pretty good shape I do alot of cardio but I haven't been able to get my small waist that I once had in my 20s now in my 30s I'm working on getting it back you inspired me to do this , thank you :)
looks lovely but hun, you do realize that there's a reason women stopped wearing those right? it's very very very very bad for your health. heart problems, misplacement of organs, and bruised ribs are caused by these corsets. gives you a great figure, but i think you should consider your health.
Love your videos! They are so informative for us newbies. Where in the world did you find an underbust front lace? I've looked online and only see overbusts.
It was custom made by Bezerk Corsets in the UK before he closed down his shop. His fiancée (owner of Bound by Obsession) however still makes corsets so I'm sure she would be able to make one. :)
There are men who corset as well, and they cinch quite well. Obviously a male custom corset has a completely different shape because of males' lower and broader ribcage, but it actually helps control pot belly, makes them stand up straighter and sort of puffs their chest out - it makes the wearer look very confident. :)
Very nice video, thank you for sharing all your good advices with us !
Just a question : have you try using a boned lacing protector with this front lacing corset ? To prevent the belly from bulging during the lacing and ease the process.
I made a removable boned lacing protector for this exact reason, but I'm just not wearing it in this video because it's black and the camera couldn't detect how I was pulling the laces. In a future video I will show the protector in use.
It's quite interesting watching how drastically you shrink as you put the corset on. . . . It makes me think of something the sales lady said when I went to try on my very first corset.

hey
tis is amazing, but i have a few questions.
are you planning on going any smaller with your waist?
have your organs not moved around now you have such a small waist?
and would you say there is an age that it is safe to start corset training?
thankyou!

Keep on posting you are wonderful.

I made a removable boned lacing protector for this exact reason, but I'm just not wearing it in this video because it's black and the camera couldn't detect how I was pulling the laces. In a future video I will show the protector in use.
Thanks for your support! :)
