When will this sad post-menopausal botoxed creature Lumley comprehend Britain should NOT act as a dump for every third world refugee charity case. These people are in fact paid a pension that gives them a good standard of living in their own country. These so called “celebrities” such as Lumley and Redgrave should stick to acting not prostitute themselves through the media to force their extreme unelected left wing views regarding third world parasites on the British taxpayer.
@dearencyber wel i think.proud ko kill cuz they promised to protect the country and protect others aswell as themselves n also killing the enemy, bt also proud being killed cuz they died for thier country.wel this is what i been taught.
@dearencyber Because they are the most fearless of all dude.. my dad served in Iraq with British fellows and got shot in his chest.. half injured and retired after that.. now i am studying in Uk.. i not british.. i will complete my course next year.. i can earn 20000-30000 per year doing 9-5 easily.. but i will join Gurkhas to live with pride..
So are the Gurkhas part of the British Army, or more like allies? or mercenaries? this is new to me, as I didn't know the Brits still recruit outside of their countries, and if they are given the UK citizenship? like the french foreign legion. I hear they are paid by the Brits, is this true?
@katrachosps They are paid by the British and are part of the British army. They do receive some rights but their is confusion at who gets what at the moment. The British army still recruits form the commonwealth. This regiment is the only one to survive as a foreign regiment. Most commonwealth recruits are just put in National regiments. We have a lot of carribeans joining the Armed Forces.
@jdi0093113 we all know that a taliban commander was beheade by a gurkha. we all know that a gurkha took on 30 talibans by himself. we all know that a lone gurkha killed 4 indian train robbers and chased away the remaining 40 dacoits. now watch this video and see gurkha bruce lee doing his "everybody's kungfu fighting" and emerging as Asian champion.
here's the video ---> Barja Kumar Rai: Kirat hero of Nepal - 11th Asia Full Contact Final
ur friend might betray u, ur faith might also betray u but these noble gentle mens can now will never betray u.... i faced it in war zone. they'll glady die in place of u to keep u safe. i m now retired but i still wanna be with them, fighting alongside them. long live gurkhas.
@45disaster the old scottish saying is; "were aw jock tamsons bairns" meaning we are all from the one father. in this case, The Royal Corps of Signals. Certa Cito!
Jimmy (if I may). You're the senior soldier but I'm 65. Any idea what is the red brick building between RHQ and the Training Wing (as they were in my time?
The rifles are carried at the 'trail'. Historic reasons, the Baker rifle issued to Rilfe regiments would be carried at the trail as they advanced, two riflemen worked together, one firing as his partner would be loading.
the Rifles are carried at the trail, as they are marching at a 'light infantry pace' (140 paces per minutes) rather than a conventional Quick March Pace (116 Paces a minutes)
@watsdestorybud when light infantry troops halt they immediately come to the "at ease position" so that they rest. this is because of the fast march pace.
@watsdestorybud It's because the Gurkha Rifles are a light infantry regiment, hense the waist height rifle drill. The Rifles do the same. It's from back in the day when armies used to go to battle in ranks; light infantry regiments had to be faster and cover a larger distance of land (note the rather fast marching pase- again The Rifles do the same) so they carried thier rifles to thier side for practicality, as oppose to smartness and so forth.
Ayo Gurkhali! Like willobi I would trust my life to these brave men any day. Yes, they are the salt of the earth and should be treated with honour and respect by everyone in the UK. They are true friends of Britain!
Now the British Gurkhas have got their UK citizenship which they rightly deserved,
it is matter of time that we Nepalese and not as Gurkhas demand our territory return back to Nepal(Treaty of Seguli in 1816) which Nepal lost 2/3 of its territory which India is in possession now. UK never return back our land when it gave India it's independence and left Indian sub-continent for good.
If needed, Nepalese should bring this issue to the UN and World's Court.
diliprai. the bravest of the brave and the truest of the true. i served with these guys in the 60s. willobi. trust them with my life? i would trust them with my money, and ahm a scotsman.
It is a total disgrace that we do not allow our fellow braves to settle in this country but the pakis can walk in as they please.i dislike pakis very much.i have never met a more untrusting race in my life and as they say in scotland they would sell their granny for a few pence
pegasus26 those same pakis you hate have fought and died in ww1 and ww2 for the UK. they have lost significant numbers during those conflicts. Sometimes learning history teaches you the reality rather than bigoted ignorant commentary
Stop blaming one government for the shameful treatment the Gurkhas have received. Thats just serving your own views. Every British government , every party , has let these men down, very badly. I am no fan of the current labour mob , but at least they have introduced more improvements
than any other. BUT IT IS FAR FROM ENOUGH...PLEASE search out the Gurkha justice campaigns, welfare organisations , and give all the help and support you can...
The ghurkhas like the robot, manipulate and were used by British as slave....at the same time the British give them a few penny....hahaha...pool ghurkhas....
As you knows very well, The gurkhas are not loyaty for their homeland, They just like the human trade, Any country can buy them for the their purpose such to fight and killing in the war...so the gurkhas just proud with a few penny has been given to them...I,m very sad to said it....
To all Gurkhas..Please come home and serve for your homeland...We are the bravery men and surely fight just for ours roots...may god bless us...
The Brigade of Gurkhas has shown nothing but courage and loyalty to the service they attest to with an oath. That is FACT.
Your criticism of them from Nepal's point of view is extremely naive. The economic behefits to Nepal from Gurkha foreign service and pensions is immense. The aid and welfare input their service overseas brings in is invaluable.
I think your view is somewhat simplistic and clouded .
