Isn't the religious statue that show's in one of the video clips, Chenrezig? which symbolizes Kundun? So basically, the rumors I heard bout this song is right.
I heard the song's lyric's are meant for HH Dalai Lama. "Ama" is suppose to mean HH Dalai Lama. I even heard he was arrested because this song became so popular in Tibet and a lot of people knew that the song was meant as a message to Kundun. It's not suprising since a lot of Tibetan singers who write song's that are subliminal message's to or about Kundun get arrested after these songs become popular in Tibet.
This song reminds me of Dorje Dradul of Mukpo aka Chogyam Trungpa of Shambhala. He was told by his guru to bring Vajrayana to the masses, and Shambhala is his version.
In one of his books, he wrote about his relationship with his mom, especially about having to become a Trungpa. He was picked for religious training, because Vajrayana belief is that a lama can see which kid is a reincarnation of Avalokiteshvara or a Tibetan lama.
One of the basic ideas in Vajrayana Buddhism is that our minds, due to endless conditioning, overlay a simpler reality with our point of view and our emotions. Ideas separate us, so, using youtube, we send a prayer to Tara via the clouds in the sky for more understanding between us all.
Sorry, the melody sounded very Tibetan but I guess my pro Tibetan fears twisted me ears. I have been a student for the past seven years of Garchen Rinpoche from Kham and have listened to many hours of Tibetan but do not speak a word. I am glad to hear that it is pro Dalai Lama, I heard him in Tucson where he gave a five day teaching on chapter 8 of the Bodhicharya Avatara. I am a fool indeed, sorry.
sorry I thought you were a Tibetan, yes Yadon is actually a khampa so the accent is a little different, as you may well know, also khampas differ from each other in their accent, and please do not take offence to my post I just thought you were an ignorant tibetan.
