I would put this on my virtual pc. If I did, it would be the first thing I ever installed on there. I stopped at the part where you have to put in an installation disc. I have one, put I'm afraid to put it in because I'm afraid that I might mess up the os I'm running Virtual PC on.

My first Windows computer was a 98. I was a kid back then, and I thought it was the best thing I ever played around with in my whole life. I'm 20 now, and I miss those good ol' days. Don't get me wrong, I have a Windows 7 computer now, and I think it's a cool OS, but there's something genuine about 98 that I can't put my finger on. So far in my life, I've experienced Windows 98, Windows XP, and Windows 7.

I remember when any pc game could run on any computer regardless of hardware because games weren't so advanced and the pc's weren't either. Now the games need a monster computer to run at full capacity and the stock pcs you buy at any retail store are for office only. Good days of windows 98 and that fat small monitor. :D

My laptop is from 2004 and can natively run Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP, and 2003 without problems but XP and 2003 go a little slow with the "Fisher Price" theme. I dual boot Windows 2000, and XP on the harddrive and boot Windows 98 SE or Windows ME from a USB and the drivers and Wireless Internet work fine.

I think what baffles new users of Virtual PC the most must be the insertion of diskettes or CD-ROMs into the Virtual machine, you accomplish this by creating ISO images of your old software, and if you have software that originally came in diskettes, you can create floppy images (.IMG) and use them! That's how I put Prince of Persia 1 into Virtual PC running MS-DOS 6.22.

@cleosimble The best editions of windows still remain xp and 7 imo. My laptop runs 7(upgraded from vista) but one of my old desktops still runs xp(upgraded from 98 around 2003). I have been using it for gaming and other things for a while, as it has a powerful ati graphics card and a 2gb ram.

@computergeek123ism I would say that, but Windows Seven has fixed the major problems I had with XP, such as security problems, bugs, etc. BUT besides all those problems XP was great.I still use it from time to time just so it doesn't go to waste. Note: When I said upgraded from 98 i meant to type in we got a new pc running xp.

@cleosimble the problem I still have with win7 is command prompt doesn't emulate true DOS, which sucks if you're a fan of classic PC gaming titles like Sim City or Doom. also whoever the noob was who programmed the startup repair, backup and system restore features should go fuck themselves. a sp1 update has ended up in me having to reinstall my operating system before. money well spent, not.

In Virtual PC, after you booted virtual OS, press edit, then settings, you'll get a windows with virtual OS settings, select networking, and setup it. Hope this help you =)
