This is a great story. It's actually of whoary age - the "civilised man" meeting a "savage" or "wildman". The oldest written story that we know of - "The Epic of Gilgamesh" (at least 4000 years old) is precisely this kind of story.

When I first read the book as a small child, I always pictured Stig, not as a caveman. but as bits of rubbish (Crisp packets, paper, cans, what have you) merged into a being. Never knew why the hell why...

@Simiro24716 Yes, it's weird cos i saw him in 'Bright Star' a few weeks ago, then recognised him again as 'paul' in Nowhere Boy, then i came across this on Youtube and realised it was him again! Had never heard of him a few weeks ago and now i see him everywhere! He has got 'something'.
