The S1 was not particularly popular with its drivers - the Quattro already had the engine ahead of the front axle and was nose heavy, the shortened wheelbase made things even worse. Did you know that when journalists used to go for drives in the E2 with Walter Rohrl and the other drivers that some would black out for a few seconds due to the G-forces the E2 would create under acceleration. As there bodys just wer'nt physically used to it.
@Marvdogger 1st of:BIG FAN!:) Fun fact,i just watched "Motorvision" today and saw Walther Rohrl reunited with his first Quattro (A2) blast thru the col de turin-stage of the Monte carlo rally in 16 min.+ with the reporter riding shotgun.ofcourse the A2 was a BIT diff from the S1 E2 but he hadn`t been in that car for 26 yrs and still drove it like a God.Understeer and all.He is just....WOW!!
