  • i cant belive this is real lol ahhhhh this is to funny

  • staaa

  • track at 0:30 anyone?

  • song at 0:17 anyone? SO GOOD

  • @malexmofuckinspray terrorize - its just a feeling

  • Now its Dubstep raves

  • @eatpanda118 Dubstep and raves dont deserve to be in the same sentence. Dubstep is not real electronic music

  • so if i were to say i hate shuffling right now, no one would begrudge me that hatred? cuz i REALLY hate shuffling. nobody dances good anymore. i am officially old. :)

  • @little024anguissette No ur not. I cant stand that shuffling shyt either. Im glad i can still hit the dance floors and find it nice when people join you and compliment you cuz they see you dancing with rhythm and luv. All from my warehouse party days (before they were called raves), when dancing was all u did there. Yes, i am a white male and no, i am not gay. Tune in, turn out, drop out and smile :)

  • those were the day!

  • the american scene just didnt have the same vibe and power that we had in the UK, if you were around at that time you would know what i mean, man, it was unbelievable,

  • @mrisor892 Know what u mean mate. Ur aussie cousins had a simliar vibe as well.

  • @PetShopMod WOW! thats news to me, didnt know the vibe travelled down under but i suppose it stands to reason really as we all have an excellent taste in underground culture, i am a graf artist and i know that Australia has some truly phenomenal talent that has been around as long as it has here.

  • @mrisor892 Definatley mate. We even had it down to the illegal airplane hangers, parties, just like u geezers. 808 state, Guy called Gerald, Nomad, KLF, LFO, D-Mob, Tyree Cooper, Doug Lazy. Fuck me freddie i could go on, but you get the picture, yeah.

'Burn baby burn. Drop out and smile' :)

  • @PetShopMod i dont want to sound like a wanker but i just dont think the yanx fully captured the essence of what it was about, i dont know why this is. Australia fucking rocks, the fact that we embraced this rave era in the same way shows how in tune we are when it comes to really 'avin it', and understanding the scene cos it had exclusiveness from the outside world but at the same time we were all one family gettin off our tits and showin the love. long live aussie souljahz, drop out and smile!

  • @mrisor892 That is so true mate.

  • Oh good Lord, I wish raves were still like this. Ugh!

  • Damn, and they didn't have any Ptots!

  • i am so happy i was part of this back then :)

  • Yeah Breakbeat! Kids nowadays dont even know what Jungle is!

  • This is so heavily awesome.

  • Notice how 20somethings (and "gasp* adults) used to actually show out.

Mostly tweens and teens these days.

  • More like leaving: "Yeah man! Can't wait!" on the facebook event and NEVER showing! I would give anything to go back and be part of this movement...

  • @SigmaOxygen I know, it fucking sucks.

  • These are the tunes I wish I could hear today. Get outta here with all that hard dance garbage. These are the real EDM tunes you can dance to!

  • Oh my god that is DJ Carlos @ 1:24!!!! Good times!

  • @djjerryg not only is that carlos that is dutch he was talking to :-)

  • I was there!! 1992 summer... A party was originally supposed to be at an old amusement park in Guerneville but the space fell through at the last minute... Party ended up at Scandia in Rhonert Park. After party at the Russian River, which spawned the Reunion parties. Amirite??!!

    RIP Marcello

  • Carlos was the best ever!!!!!!!! jeno too

  • Sounds like everyone is gettin down to the Streets of Rage soundtrack.

  • nice.. im pretty sure that was Carlos by the lake. OG

  • last song is 2 Bad Mice. beauty.

  • is that Bob Sagget @1:22?

  • thank you for posting this video... it brought back some memories. saw some people i used to know in there... that was a special time in the bay area.

  • my era my music

  • I would have LOVED to be a part of this scene back then! Nowadays it's more about a bunch of fucking kids who don't know anything about the music and the scene, who only care about doing drugs and trying to be a part of something that's unfortunately turned mainstream.

  • 0:55 is that captain tinrib???

  • good old time... the days when electronic music is born.... :)

  • Late 90's were better

  • this looks fun. To bad i was 7~ years late to the party!

  • hahaha everyone's on acid

  • Can somebody please tell me what the tune at 1.16 is. Thanks

  • @scaperuk Acorn Arts - Body

  • @housydoing Thanks for that info. ref. acorn arts

  • WOW...DJ Spun AND DJ Carlos...by a lake...

  • oh no its the ty-die, dreddlock crew...lol

  • Filled with acid trax, house, and breakbeat. I wish I was a raver during the 90s.

  • @stkcarm5 the 90's were a top time but don't be fooled the year 2000 was good to if not different when i go to raves now the main thing i notice is mistrust! like people aren't unifying.

  • @stkcarm5 it was fantastic. I was in the midwest, but SO much fun. :-)

  • @stkcarm5 being one, now im just jaded... this will never come back!

  • So care free and laid back, just like it's supposed to be! I wish I raved around this time....a few years late!

  • wish i coulda raved in this era, its alot more real

  • @sofianjessica i agree, raves are gay now

  • San Francisco was pure magic back then. I would not trade those wonderful years for anything. Period. Thanks for posting. P.S there is The Gathering reunion party on 12-11-10 for those who remember and for those who missed out on it 19 years ago. Look very good. To bad I'm on Los Angeles now!

  • yes it was. i remember this was at some peewee golf course and i lost the ability to communicate do to all the acid i had taken and then some old hippy gave ma purple microdot and it was aover from there,i was sitting next to the dj that day and about an hour after this video was taken the records were starting to warp in the guernville sun, trippin balls that day.cool to see.

  • IS THAT RUSSIAN RIVER @ 49 SEC

  • Nice! Looks like here in germany, back in da Glory 90`S

  • lol the American rave scene was very similar to the UK rave scene... was everyone pillin out there nut still??

  • lots of great tunes, anyone recognize any of them?

  • This video takes me way back. I remember Carlos, he was a popular DJ, wonder what he's up to now? Those days were so much fun!

  • tune at 0:34 ?? what is it ?? help appreciated !

  • @syneptiv

    Terrorize - It's Just A Feeling

  • I wonder how many of these reavers found this video and went back in time. I'm a new raver and I don't wanna get old cause I love to rave. PLUR for LIFE!

  • OMG!! 1:09 thats the guy that used stalk me at the clubs!

  • You all are legends!! True school, old school is bold school. Live it!!

  • ha! you all look off ya bean!

  • does anyone have a list of the music being played here?

  • ohh shit its my daddy !!

  • they were ahead of their time

  • Russian River? Carlos (1:23)?

  • Comment removed

  • That looks like the "Innocence" period of the whole rave scene in SF.

  • Holy shit. Spun in the early years! Not only a talented DJ, but a great friend.

  • santa cruz beach parties until 8am were the best. or just beach hopping

  • Bumped into Carlos at End Up just a few weeks ago! My entry into the late night was via the Gay clubs, which, with few exceptions, were more on the House tip. Still, I have fond memories of the "underground rave" shows on Wild 107 etc.. Today, I club with youth who were just or not even born in the early 90's. Their enthusiasm & passion gives me hope for the future...As a side note, its cute to see today's "ravers" going nutz off of "old skool" rave samples, which have been makin' the rounds :)

  • This takes me way back. This was when Raves and the house clubs in the bay area were "innocent" so to speak. 1015, sound factory, the end up and house boat raves off the piers. crazy times...but good times.

  • @candieapples I was a dj in SF and the western states at that time circa 93-96. I am sure I have seen you. what a glorious time it was huh?

  • It's interesting that whether you are US/UK the tunes and vibe seemed similar !

Sure it was the same elsewhere too.

  • Wow Spun and Carlos. This is old school. I havn't seen Spun in a long ass time. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

  • @AkuaRising So.. Long ago!!! Last I heard Spun is in NYC and Carlos' kids are ready to start college. Too bad that hybrid hippie vibe is gone ( around '94 at the latest ) Still I think SF scene was the best for the longest time, ( I've been to NYC, LA, CHI Town and Seattle) Keep the torch burning for Bonny Doon, The Marina, Vasco Road, The Flop House, Acme, The Marina,Home Base, King St, Gallera, 1015, and all those random break-in's._ P.L.U.R. Never forget good times!!!

  • DJ Spun by the pond??? Dannnggg...

  • things have chaged
