@D4L33tz0r my understanding is that there are some natural sources of radio waves...but the most powerful are from man made transmitters and the like....if a guy did this experiment with variable everything...he can tune into the strongest "station"...probably radio station...not oxygen and air.
@D4L33tz0r This set up is super primitive and made to show the idea........not save you money on clock batteries.....and YES..I believe this draws on man made electrical waves only because they saturate the everything......you can get a draw from the natural electromagnetic field ...but yes it would be less.
@D4L33tz0r Yes...in theory..I wanted to test it during a power outage...but most radio stations and such have generators. Please note that I have had some crazy power readings that coincide with major solar flares........and when tesla built his giant version there were very few radio stations and such......there are also plans online that show how to build a radio (earpiece) that is powered by the radio waves themselves only. So, there is a lot of power floating around..
@newmrv But if you'd test it in a faraday cage, the radio waves from radio stations wouldn't reach your circuit right ? Too bad you still would not be able to test it because the natural things wouldn't reach your circuit either... This is hard to know right...
Never say that it is free... didn't the wires cost you anything from the beginning? The time it took to assemble it? Maybe you had to buy some new tools to help you accomplish your goals?
Free beer wouldn't be free either then because you use up energy for opening the bottle and lifting the bottle to your mouth, taking the time for drinking it, and the worst part is that if you drink a lot of that "free beer", then you get a hangover the next morning and the fun time you had wont be considered free either because it was on the expense of the next morning.
.......... 1N34 germanium diodes x4, 100uf 50 v electro. caps x2, and two ceramic caps at.1 or .2uf x2.........thats the components....other than antenna.
@The1995viktor I don't have a good means to stabilize the voltage....in this case I just got lucky enough to power the clock with no problems.....but the volts varied...from day to day and some day the clock would black out from to much power......its not a very stable system at this stage....Tesla knows more.

Great job! Looks very cool!

Is the energy coming from air, oxygen, or like radio waves we created by using things that run on electricity ? I don't seem to get this very well

@newmrv So basically you are not getting free green energy, but energy that is flowing around in the air , made by mankind ?

So there will still be electricity if (imagine) there was electricty from nuclear reactors or anything produced ? :)

What about a faraday cage covered so it keeps out light too, keeping out all but strong radiation?

Now is it really free then? as in free beer?
