  • I actually like this poetic song.

  • its so sad..

  • I hate the cunt who sings this annoying song

  • The problem, and the profoud irony of this situation, is that the very westernization that motivated the (young, educated) people to revolt, also prevented them from turning this into a proper revolution. It seems that along with 'our' (western) sophistication, individualism, and tech savvy they've also adopted our cowardice and pacifism.

  • You can say whatever you want about their tactics (I happen to think they're doing it the right way), but cowardice? Really? I don't see that.

  • Well, the 'revolution' is dead, so their 'tactics' obviously didn't work. No regime change, no freedom, not even a full (and *honest*) recount -- a failure by any other name. And while it may sound a bit harsh to call the protesters 'cowards', especially considering the several dozen or so fatalities, it *is* fear that prevented them from turning this into a proper revolution. They wanted freedom, but weren't prepared to really fight for it, like so many wannabe revolutionaries before them.

  • It's not only harsh, but inaccurate. Men and women who face bullets, clubs and torture for the sake of freedom are not cowards.

If they had tried to approach this violently, they would have lost all legitimacy in the eyes of other Iranians and probably the world. And, not to mention, they would have been crushed immediately by the army.

  • They didn't face those clubs and the occasional bullet for very long. When it became apparent that the regime and its security forces mean business, the vast majority of protesters lost their nerve and went home. Violent resistance might have caused a rift in the army and ruling elite, and tipped the scales in the protesters' favor. Now all they did is piss the regime off, and it now knows who the troublemakers are, and how they communicate with each other and the outside world. Jolly good show!

  • They would never have massed in the millions if they knew there would have been violence. They've done more than piss off the regime, they've built for themselves a constituency and announced to the world their intentions.

  • You can destroy our body but you can not destroy our soul. Killers( Isalamic Republic devil doers) wrath of God will be upon you soon. Amen

  • HOLY FUCK 0:35

  • The government has declared war on its people, now it's time for the people to declare war on their government. To hell with peaceful protests! This has been going on for two weeks or so, and what have they achieved? That's right, NOTHING. This 'revolution' is almost dead. Fear has won. If you're not willing to kill and die for your ideals, you might as well STFU and go home.

  • Unfortunately, I don't think violent popular uprisings are feasible anymore. They would be crushed immediately.

One thing I know for sure, the protesters have time and demographics on their side. They will win, eventually. I think the biggest threat is if the government gives limited concessions, like what happened in China after 1989.

  • @ tintintabulations: wrong, violent popular uprisings are now more feasible than ever, thanks to all kinds of technological advances. You can organize via the internet and cell phones, use vehicles to smash into the riot police and militia, make all sorts of DIY bombs and weapons (there are plenty of step by step manuals online), storm police stations and capture guns etc. If you have the courage and will, you can win. If you really want freedom, you don't care about odds, you simply fight.

  • wait till they start bringing out the machine guns

  • We are the people !!! LIVE FREE or DIE....

  • I love how the woman wears the black eye with such strength! She looks like she has a strong spirit for what she believes in. I like her attitude, it says "I don't give a fuck!!!"

  • Moving. Sad. From America I wish freedom for Iran.

  • Good job!
