I remember White Brothers Racing put the Suzuki RM that Brad Lackey rode up for sale in the Cycle News classifieds. Boy I wanted that rocketship so bad. The Brad Lackey/ Roger DeCoster Hangtown memorial had a funny story that Brad Lackey told about Danny in this race. R.I.P Danny.

As a kid, I looked forward to the Super Bikers and the Carlsbad USGP on ABC every year. I always wanted a MXer to win the SB. It could be anyone, just a MX guy. :D

I remember watching that race as a kid. In this main event, it was Springsteen and Ricky Graham on the Factory Harley XR750 dirttrackers. Steve Wise and Danny "Magoo" Chandler on the Factory Honda CR480's. The harleys would pass em on the paved straight, and then the Hondas would get them in the dirt, usually the mx section..... Toward the end the Hondas stepped it up and pulled away. Magoo the champ.

Supermoto has it's roots in road racing, flat tracking, and motocross.

Hence why alot of road guys are good at riding supermoto, and alot of flat track guys are good at riding it also.

The who thing was an ABC WWOSports debacle, it was a great sporting event but they put their usual stuft shirts in there to announce it, Jim MCkay et al. They had a tendency to turn things into a kind of ridiculous show no matter what it was at ABC back then. Glad Supermoto/Supermotard is so popular now, it was ahead of its time and I loved it then and now.

Magoo should be a household name for ANYONE in the sport of motocross, period. He was balls out every time he rode. It's beyond sickening how the sport turned their back on this man. (I would never own/buy a Honda because they are the epitome of corporate greed/arrogance) He gave MX HUGE exposure in the 80's, and now the kids today barely know his name- such bullshit. He put the X in extreme and he should be given his due. FUCK HONDA.

Danny would of been the fastest man on two wheels (one wheel even)if he had not broke his neck in France, Dec 1985!! His flight back to the states was over $85,000. This IS the grandfather to the X-Games. Look in the Motorcycle Hall Of Fame! "FUCK YA!!!"
