The music industry style means the kind of playing ney in music styles like Arabesque or Pop. Of course this is an approximate differeniation between the styles of playing ney. listen to the players i told you and you will see what i mean
Information about the styles of ney are harder to come by in the states where there are fewer players and people who know a lot about it. Of course those who do play well or teach are kind of isolated from other ney players, because there just are not a lot here. You get use to it after a few years.
@bellydancerann He is from Turkey and actually not one of the well known players. Sometimes he performs as a member of the orchester of TRT (Turkish National Television). There are two styles of playin Ney: The Classic an the (Music-)Industry style. Some of the best known players are: Classic Style: Niyazi Sayin Sadrettin Özcimi Aziz Senol Filiz Celalettin Bicer Industry style: Ercan Irmak (My favourite, a legend) Eyüp Hamis Türker Dinletir
Do they teach you about the two styles in music school? It is the first I have heard there are two styles of playing.
