Hello, I just installed mine, with a small modification; I turned the vinyl hose the other way around, so it makes more pressure on the air tank. The results are awesome. Thank you very much for your brilliant idea =)

PS: I inflate it to 3000 PSI, and did 70 shots, the final pressure was 700 PSI !!

Final conclusion, I dont think the depinger affected the fps. Actually with the depinger there were a 10 fps increase. The depinger does make the ping sound go away, so i think im going to keep the vinyl in. If anyone hate the ping noise, they should consider doing this depinger. Its very easy to install and cost less. Thanks for the video, its helps. And good luck to all who are going to do this depinger.

@beaconstructs Also, something everyone needs to understand is that, when right next to/behind the gun, after installing the depinger, the sound appears mainly different and not necessarily much quieter. But where you really benefit is with further distances from the gun. The sound that carries is what gets extremely muffled by the depinger. Thus making you a hell of a lot quieter to those 30+ all the way to 200+.

Here are the after depinger, starting with 3000 psi, ending with 1,100 psi. 30 shot string. 975.6, 966.0, 962.4, 960.7, ?, 946.8, 942.0, 940.0, 936.6, 930.1, 930.7, 922.1, 922.8, 905.7, 902.5, 897.1, 892.5, 882.9, 874.9, 868.4, 860.4, 849.2, 840.0, 832.1, 824.8, 815.0, 802.1, 792.9, 781.1, 771.2 The ? for shot # 5 didnt read, so i put a ? for it. Both before and after shot are shot with Crosman Premier .22 Cal, 14.3 Grains, Domed pellets from 5 feet away from chrony (F1).

I just did this mod to my .22 Marauder and it completly stoped the ping. It really works. I found that if you make the 2" long vinyl fit under pressure buy making the ends touch and having to force it down the tube using spray silicone, it applys more pressure on the tube and that is what I feel stops the ping. And less vinyle more air . Thank you very much for the idea.

sure thing. I order a chrony and it arrives on friday so ill do a before and after chrony test so people who want to know if it affect fps will get an answer.

I think i did it right, its pretty easy to do. I use 2 inch of clear vinyl, remove the air cap, split the vinly and roll it then trim until it doesnt overlap, shove it inside the air reservoir halfway in, put back the cap. The discharge sound from the muzzle is a bit louder that b4 the depinger. ill try to take out the vinyl and redo with a new vinyl piece and see if that will help with the sound. i brought 1 ft of vinyl so i have plenty left over.

@omegaweapon2008 Oh found your mistake! Nor worries you'll just need to put a new piece in but since you have pleantly it is not a problem. Don't trim it until it doesnt overlap. You want to shove as much as you can in there all over lapped. When it over laps and is in there, the idea is that it will be constantly trying to re expand, pressing againts the inner reservoir walls, thus absorbing the ping.

after installing the vinyl tube inside the marauder .22 cal, i found that the discharge sound of the gun is much louder now that the sound of the ping is gone. The ping sound is so loud that all you hear is the ping, making the discharge of the gun very quiet. The depinger does work, so if you want to get rid of the ping, try it, but know you will hear the discharge to be quite louder than without the depinger.

how long should the vinyl be? i heard some say 2 inches long and other say it should be 4 inches long. which works the best?

@omegaweapon2008 2 inches is pleanty 1 or 1 1/2 " would even work. The more you have in there, the more shots you lose. I am positive that there would be no sound difference in a 2" piece and a 4" piece. Once the ping is 'depinged' that's it and 2" inches did it for me

@omegaweapon2008 No it will not. If you fill your gun with a hand pump, you have to make sure your air reservoir stays dry from pumping in the air around you that will always have moisture in it.

Well done! Inventive idea. I have a machined depinger in mine, so I won't be trying this. But, by all rights, it should work just as well - so long at the hose continues to put pressure on the resevoir.

Hey sorry if I don't answer your questions correctly, it's just that I don't fully inderstand them. Well it works by the coiled up vinyl always trying to uncoil itself inside the air reservoir, pressing against the inner walls, absorbing the ping. It is very easy to do. Get the hose at Home Depot. I went in and told the guy I only wanted about 2 inches and he cut it off and gave it to me for free. Then again I am a regular ha Good luck and respond if you have anymore questions
