Supernatural won mostly because it was a mix of CGI and general Special Effects, without the use of computer generated imagery. Smallville and Reaper relied heavily on technology for the scenes chosen. If it was CGI alone, Smallville should have won.

I'm a hardcore spn fangirl,but i have to admitt that I also like the other special effects,reaper`s and Smalville`'s.But I prefer the spn-ish,because I don`t like the way(so much) Smalville uses it (it's to science-fiction-ly for me*lol*). But doesn't mean that the effects from Smallville arent created well,the creation itself is impressing.But well - it`s a question of opinion everyone to his taste,right`?^^

Wow can't believe Supernatural won it. I know they have really nice effects but there's are very short burst kings of things. The "Smallville" effects make the story itself while in Supernatural it adds to the story but most of their effects are on set.

Supernatural: cool, not those exaggerated effect like that Reaper show, and they are in some level easy to identify.I may think this because I'm a huge fan, but they are good, remembering that it's a small underground show.Smallville has really nice, too, but the show hasn't gotten me hooked ever.I tried.
