i am glad to say i was there that week... so sad it was sold... also strange that the SIGNS around the camp dissapeared the same week..

In my youth I spen a total of 6 summers at Camp Onway, the last sumer I was there for 4 weeks. it's a terrible loss to my childhood and to the many Scouts that will never see it again...

I was in troop 53 methuen. No other camp compares to Onway.

As a child, I visited Camp Onway . My parents started their life together there. I was told many stories of the adventures they had together. One of my memories was grandpop having my dad see the view from the top of the flagpole. He was stuck atop the pole until after lunch.

My grandmom would cook for the boys in the camp. The Statue in Lawrence, MA donated in his honor meant so much to him. Our heritage and roots are gone. Erica Planitzer Dragon (Pop Bacon's grand daughter)

This is horrible. I went there with Troop 51 for several years, and I just found out it was sold. :-(

So sad.
