@Olekrok this cpu will be fine, but you also need a graphics card. the inbuilt chip most likely wont run it or will struggle.

also you may want to think about getting at least an i5 for gaming as it will last longer in the future.

@terry3218 it depends but id say i3 cause its the newer model, id try and buy the dual-core but otherwise id go for the i3. Its up to date so itll play games and the clocking speed is much faster ;)

for gaming, an i5 would be perfect. but with i3, i guess a 330m would be the minimum as it is hyperthreaded.

this is not bad for light gaming, music recording will be perfectly fine.

the nvidia g105 is like a higher clocked version of the 9300 (which we have a video of in crysis) it would be at max 25% faster. but may be only 10% or so as i havnt seen it for myself.

with the processor, even though it runs at a lower clock, it is hyperthreaded (so its similar to running a quad core, which is good)

ok, you need to find out what core i3 it is (go to my computer, right click, then go to properties and it should say there. also check the ram in here.

that nvidia sticker means that it has a graphics card from nvidia (a good thing) to find out which one it is, right click on the desktop, click nvidia control panel then on the bottom left of the box that opens there is system info, click that and it should list the card as.. "geforce something"

@tNsENDURED ok, your laptop is not too bad, should be able to play most games, probably on the low to medium-low settings. with the nvidia 320m graphics card. (which is a lot better than most people can with their laptops, although the 320m is a low - medium laptop card)

the name of your cpu (core i3 something) should be found in the same place you found your ram. - my computer - right click - properties.

All Core i3s come with integrated graphics.

They can come with dedicated graphics too, I'm not sure if the system will switch back and forth automatically though, but that's the idea to be power efficient.

to be honest, i wouldnt recommend anything lower than the i5-430

Type in Intel GMA to google, first page, and you'll see a list of all the Intel Graphics, at least in more recent years.

Desktop Core i5-661 has the most GPU power, bit faster.

There might be a few ways to overclock or boost the GPU power.

But I say stop fooling around and get a card for $99 or so if you really want more GPU power and want to play games better.

The Core i5's have some good features the i3s don't have but are maybe a bit pricey.

sony vegas (video editing that usul573 refered to) doesnt use gpu power, its all cpu powered so the inbuild graphics will have no effect on the rendering

not a bad idea, although make sure you research b4 u buy, some may look good in features, but things like cooling, case durability and shit arent very good.

also take note that the graphics drivers take a while before the companies update them - nvidia takes months b4 they change their notebook drivers.

i'd definently go with the i3, because its newer and more refined, runs cooler also.

they would both be fairly close at the same clock speed although an i3 at 4ghz should beat it.

in terms of graphics the inbuilt graphics in the i3 is fairly useless.

had someone at store tell me the memory also influences the speed and performance.

thats what mainly confused me.

the way i see it, it comes down to an extra 180gb hard drive, or the x4500gma.

By memory he refers to RAM ( random access memory) this younwould want at least 2gb. 4gb is ideal for today's computing.

The harddrive doesn't really have much (if any) influence on the speed of the computer in general computing.

they are both hp. one is a pavilion dv6-2150.

the other is a G62-144DX.

im not serious about gaming, but if i could i would.

they both cost the same and im trying to figure out what gives me more bang for buck.

they both have the i 3-330, but one has intel hd graphics and 500gb hard drive. the other has the x4500MHD but only 320gb. which is better and why?

They are both intel HD graphics.

They will be fi e for general - non gaming needs.

If u are into games, I'd recommend going with a nvidia or ati card.
