  • We have the same sense of humour mate, I dunno I find these reviews hilarious.

  • i liked the first one better. This one seemed to drag too long for me

  • this movies was way to confusing compared to the first one.

  • L or Batman....hmmmmmmm

  • HOUSE!!!!

  • I do agree however, Moriarty was a much better villain than Blackwood.

  • I really enjoyed the first Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes 2 was not bad, but not as good IMO. The ending of this movie had some unexplained elements (i won't give anything away).

  • Fuck L that little bitch sherlock from bbc can destroy L, light and dexter at the same time in an intellectual battle. L is only a student and a character based on sherlock holmes (fuck you fanboys yes he is) and i actually like the guy but seriously sherlock from bbc is fucking awesome

  • I love BBC's Sherlock so much more.

  • the end was so epic

  • L from Death Note!!! He rocks!!

  • Doctor Who!

  • You should do a review to the BBC version of Sherlock too.

  • This was my favorite movie of 2011. Potter sucked balls and Marvel movies were mediocre.

  • 2:50

  • I have a feeling Guy Ritchie would be a perfect director of a western Death Note series.

  • @Jeremyjahns can you please do a review of the BBC series sherlock. I love that series and it would be great to hear your opinion on it.

  • Jeremy, I don't think we share the same taste in movies at all, but for some reason i still really like watching your reviews. Props

  • would i have to watch the first one to understand this "sherlock 2"? cause i never seen the first one...

  • Stephen Fry. That is all.

  • 1:13 wow so the 'Miami Twice: 'The American Dream' (only fools and horses) was right when everyone thought that they were Australian

  • V from V for Vendetta

  • i was bored while watching it

  • HOLMES!

  • Light Yagami, because you don't really know if what he's doing is good or bad

  • As good as this film was, i still think the bbc series of Sherlock is better, its just so clever and gripping, not to mention Andrew Scott as Moriaty is perfect

  • @fanguychris your right sherlock rocks(bbc)

  • L from Death Note

  • tony stark

  • Joker and moriarty

  • Jared Harris was absolutely magnificent as Moriarty, he nailed every aspect of the character perfectly.

  • Dexter!!

  • this movie was so complicated it took me 2 and a half days to understand it fully.

  • Joker

  • adrian monk, hehe

  • Jeremy I think you missed something cool about this movie, sherlock makes a mistake I loved that because it made him feel less like a god

  • Is this THE END ?

  • Batman

  • Poor Mark Strong

  • disagree!

  • Dr. Manhattan

  • Micheal Jackson

  • Professor X

  • The Joker. It may not seem like it, but, yeah...the Joker no questions asked. His insanity is his genius and his genius is his insanity. Someone help me explain this.

  • The ending of this movie made me sooo freakin happy. With what just happened (waterfall), I was upset. But with the chair disguise and the '?'... I was very happy.

  • Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars as the smartest enemy in that universe. He's so intelligent you need to read books if you every want to know about him (heir to the empire trilogy)

  • Yes! Do a TV show review of BBC Sherlock!

I know, I know, 'jumping on the bandwagon'.. but I really do love that show.

  • This movie was... Alright... I have to agree with other commenters that Benedict Cumberbatch is the REAL Sherlock Holmes for the 21st century! Check him out on BBC!

Andrew Scott as Jim Moriaty also needs to be seen to be believed! :)

  • @WelcomeGhostsIV that show was gay

  • @MrGamerX101 your comment was pointless and irrelevant.

  • @DarkChipmunks989 i respectfuly disagree with your opinion

  • BBC's Sherlock is amazing!

  • @brunobb1 I bet no one knows what you mean except 8 people

  • Wow, there's quite a lot of comments over the bbc Sherlock. Nothing wrong with that but people are coming off as if we shouldn't waste time liking Game Of Shadows. Like we should be ashamed on liking it.

    Why?

Yes, bbc Sherlock is great and, yes, better than the movie but come on. Both the movie and the show are completely different from one another but is still tons of fun to watch for what they are. I know not everyone likes the same thing but there's no need for, 'this sucks, watch the show'

  • He might want to check out BBC's SHERLOCK. Honestly, much, much better.

  • watch the Sherlock (tv show) before the american remake and f*ck it up. it's like 6 different movie about Holmes

  • Batman

  • Eddie Mora from Limitless

  • kevin spacey from the usual suspects is the king of smart villians

  • I'm sorry, gotta say this now- Downey Jr and Law are pretty awesome as Film!Holmes&Watson, but Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as BBC'sGreatestTVProduction!Holmes&Watson are just new levels of awesometacularness. If you love characters, editing, storylines and directing that is ultra-slick and goes above and beyond, then you -have- to watch Sherlock. And then a JJ review of it would be the icing on the cake :D

  • Tony Stark/Iron Man(Downey version) is it wrong to say that he is a smart guy?

  • Lol, if you don't follow the names of every character in this movie it will get very confusing, once I knew who the guy who they were constantly talking about (not Moriarty I'm not that stupid) was I was like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH" and then it got amazing

  • I loved the movie, but then I saw BBC's SHERLOCK television series and it just wiped the floor with this- it's just brilliant, brilliantly directed, acted, and Benedict Cumberatch is just...boss. Seriously. And I'm American.

  • @AwesomeVideos40

I'm American and I love both the bbc and this movie. Is the bbc better? Yes, without a question.

But it and the movie Sherlock Holmes are pretty different that I don't see why we can't enjoy both, seeing for what they are.

  • Sherlock > Sherlock Holmes

  • House

  • Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law perfect? For the first time i disagree with you Jeremy. Benedict Cummberbatch and Martin Freeman, are a much more convincing Sherlock and Watson..you legitimately care about those 2.

  • Please, please, please watch and review the BBC version of Sherlock! It's so much better than the films.

  • favorite movie genius maybe hanible lecter or hertz from shoot'em up thats kind of a stretch though, i think im going to say the jew hunter from inglorious basterds

  • my favourite smart villain was probably Clyde Shelton (gerard butler) in law abiding citizen, amazing film

  • That guy from the mentalist... I forgot his name... >.<

  • The ending made up for the movie, I thought it was a little on the long side but still it was very well done.

  • The Joker and Hannibal Lecter. Two of my favorite villains of all time. Intellect and chaos, can't get any better than that :)

  • Nah, SH1 was better than this movie. The thing was all over the place.

  • People rather than watch these Guy Ritchie abominations, Seriously Go watch the BBC show "Sherlock"......seriously its infinite times better than this movie. and the show is only two seasons with 3 episodes each (1 hour and 30 mins /episode) so pretty much your watching a movie.

i personally rank this show with The Wire and Breaking Bad, seriously its that amazing.

  • The Joker. He may seem crazy, but it is mentioned that actually he has a kind of super-sanity. Kind of like Holmes, "He sees everything, and that is his curse."

  • Dexter... both of them...

  • Wrong in something, the brother (Mycroft), is smarter than sherlock. (My argument is based in the original book from Sir conan doyle).

  • The Smoke Monster from LOST ... not from a movie but still ... come on !! lol

  • Eddie Morra on NZT (Limitless).

  • Mentalist all the way!

  • Gordon freeman

  • Check out the BBC One Series. It's incredible.

  • Batman and Deathstroke

  • "made me feel all smart and shit" I used that on this chick

  • The reviewer is completely wrong. The second Sherlock Holmes film is awful. It takes everything great about the original and ruins it. They've turned Sherlock Holmes into a comedy. The action scenes are poorly edited and directed. There's too many flash forwards and slow motions used. Replacing Rachel McAdams' character with the Gypsy was a bad choice. It didn't work well. There's too much time filler and the plot is poor. Moriarty is badly portrayed too.

  • I like jim moriarty from the tv show Sherlock, cuz he's so damn crazy

  • @gradeaaaplus The Sherlock BBC series is superior to the Downey Jr. movies in every way.

  • @aidenmccloskey i agree, though i'm not saying that the downey jr version is bad, i enjoyed it thoroughly, but i think that the bbc series has had more time to expand the characters of the book, and i think that moriarty was really wasted in the movie

  • @gradeaaaplus And he's kinda like jigsaw. At the third episode 3 of season one, you get creeped out.

  • @alexman378 yeah the actor sort of out did the crazy, but that's what made him awesome, it was really sort of portrayed a desperate child looking for a playmate, and then finall finding him, and wanting to kill him

  • @gradeaaaplus Even though I liked the one in the movie (don't get me wrong, there is no reason to compare, since everything is different, so don't compare either), I liked the rumors of Brad Pitt being Moriarti because for some reason, young genius criminal masterminds always worked better for me, because the generic old professor was way too common. Maybe he should do the Riddler in a future Batman movie. I mean he can really pull of someone like him, like he did in Season 1 Episode 3.

  • @alexman378 haha EXACTLY what i was thinking. He would be an awesome riddler, Plus he's irish so he'd look awesome in green hahaha

he just pull off mad homicidal genius soooo well!

  • I'm just gonna say that Professor Moriarty has got to be one of the greatest villains of all time. He is pretty much superior to Sherlock in just about every way.

  • Batman!!

  • I like how he said "They're puhrfekt!"

  • Uchia Madara from Naruto. He tried to blow up a baby for gods sake!

  • Smart guys are abundant in many media. BUT, they do appear a lot in manga and anime.

In those media I'd have to say that L and Light from Death Note as well as "Lelouch vi Brittania" from Lelouch of the Rebellion steal the show.

Seriously, how many people can screw you over just by playing chess.

Oh and lets not forget Seto Kaiba. He's smart. but his Ego is way too big.

  • Ben Gates..for some reason.

  • BATMAN!!!!!!!!

  • Benedict Cumberbatch from BBC's Sherlock.

  • L from death note

  • HOUSE...

  • @neo56695 ROAD HOUSE

  • Review BBC's Sherlock you will love it!! it does what you want Sherlock Holmes to be like! it essential cover the issues you have with these movies!

  • I really loved this movie.

  • They very clearly illustrated him seeing everything in the first much more subtly and better I thought. In the restaurant when he's waiting for Watson and Watson's wife

  • This was a good ass movie

  • lol no alcohol required. XD

  • hannibal lecter

  • Iron Man was Robby Jr, worst proformance his best was in Natural Born Killers then Due Date

  • AWESOMETACULAR!

  • Mines definitely the Doctor off doctor who

  • DEXTER!!!!

  • This is one of my favorite movies of 2011...I loved it :D.

  • @StuffFromSam I was going to suggest the same thing. How has he not done a Sherlock (BBC) review yet? If you like seeing smart people throw down with smart people... yeesh.

  • fucking love House<3

  • My favorite is Sherlock Holmes. My favorite version of Holmes outside of the books is the BBC series Sherlock.

  • Victor von Doom!

  • you should review the bbc1 series sherlock :)

  • @StuffFromSam This please. I thought I would hate it but I found that I was rather intrigued with it after the double pilot.

  • Light Yagami and L from a manga called Death Note

  • @TheDewey101

Hes only good for 90% of the manga. Then he dies like a whiny douce and loses all his cool factor. Granted, hes probably one of the best manga villian to comeout in the 2005-2012 along with Ladd Russo and maybe The Count, but Moriarty has always been such a bloved villian. If you know literature, you know moriarty, that kinda thing. He basically is the big villian of that time period. Anywho just wanted to comment more about the Light Yagami part :P

  • Sherlock bbc.

  • REVIEW THE BBC SHERLOCK SERIES PLZ!!

  • sheldon cooper

  • Ha Ha, I have to say, your reviews are among the most entertaining on the net. I really appreciate your humour and intelligence. As for Sherlock Holmes, you actually convinced me to see this, even though I didn't really like the first one that much. Keep up the great reviews--they are most enjoyable.

  • Seriously, this movie has one of the best endings I ever seen

  • @NastyNecros YES. AGREED.

  • this is better than the first one

  • Best review ever!! HOLLLLLLLLMES....

  • i just loved the part in the end of the movie when he was just sitting on the couch all along. lol

  • anthony hopkins in anything!! most favorite smart villain

  • Aloysius X.L. Pendergast

  • Sure, the Joker was great and all, but in my eyes, Hans Landa will never be bested. He was the same as Moriarty: he just spent the whole movie intellectually one-upping his victims.

Funny, all these people claim the movie industry is dead/full of stupid remakes, and yet all the awesome villains I see in these comments are 10 years old or less.

  • Surprised you didn't talk about that forest scene. Best CGI/Cinematography I've seen...like ever.

  • With somewhat relevancy to the review Shawn Spencer from Psych if there's a modern day Holmes he's it

  • 2:50 put on the english audio captions lol

  • i liked Heath Ledger as Joker, Gollim (like, he is AWESOME!), Magneto, Dr Evil (Austin Powers!), The people who made the female robots in Austin Powers1(LOL EPIC!)

  • Robotnik, Wily, Lelouch, Battler Ushiromiya, Doc Ock, and Phoenix Wright. That's my smart people list XD

  • Smartest hero and villian hands down Light Yagami and L from Death Note. (Interpret which one is hero and villian as you wish)

  • @vanessa29500 I would definitely have to agree with this one. 2 people trying to kill each other when they don't know the other one's name or what they look like, and using the entire world as their pawns. Brilliant.

  • Jeremy, have you watched the BBC show Sherlock? I think you would like it a lot, its a lot better than this movie.

  • Should be awesometacular

  • I want to make a case for dumb heroes like Ash from the Evil Dead movies.

He's little backward, rather pompous and unlikeable, but he kicks ass when he has to.

    Dumb heroes - YEAH!

  • the doctor and the master...... or harry and voldemort

  • Sorry to disagree with you on this Jeremy. But for me, this movie is worth buying on blue-ray.

Great cinematography, great acting, excellent story, jaw-dropping action scenes... It had everything in place. Yeah, i agree that it had some lose points, but none of that ruins the great experience you have in this movie.

And of course, like you mentioned, it is so great when Homes meets Moriarty. It´s like an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. (4/5)

  • favorite smart hero vs favorite smart villian.

    -

Definitly The Doctor vs The Master

  • Lucas fox from batman (he made all of batmans do-hikies to make him the worlds greatest detective) him or Tony stark

  • Seriously, the BBC Sherlock played by Benedict Cumberbatch is simply brilliant. With his partner Dr. Watson, played by Martin Freeman: instant gold.

If you haven't watched this yet, dear Jeremy, please do. You will be highly entertained !

  • @Chiquicheeta Absolutely! I second that. It's bloody brilliant!

  • Akito from fruits basket he's one of those villians that puts everyone in line. This was a pretty awesome movie I went to go see it yesterday and I agree I also enjoyed professor Moriarty and Holmes they were just so freaking epic I felt like my mind was blown. The actor who played him deserves a thousand chocolates. They did Holmes and Walton's partnership so well I liked how they didn't rely so much on awesome fighting scenes in this. The way they interacted reminded me of magneto and Xavier.

  • So wait, you like Intelectual people matching wits, AND children killing each other such as The Hunger Games? Yeah, sounds about right.

  • @StuffFromSam Yes! That would be awesome! Dare I say, I prefer it to the period versions! :)

  • the great mouse detective ...... enough said

  • @StuffFromSam That is a gorgeous series!

    "That's what people DO!"

    *le me, sh*tting bricks

  • Light Yagami and L from Death Note. You're right. It's interesting to see two smart people having a show down at each other.

  • Izaya from Durarara. he's a cool villain

  • Come on people.

Surely Heath Ledger's Joker is the greatest movie villain?

  • @Dygazzo No.

  • @Dygazzo Oh shut up ya fanboy, he was not.

  • @Dygazzo HELL YES!

  • @Dygazzo Nope... Darth Vader.

  • @Dygazzo Nope... not even close, he's on the top 10 though

  • @nilsen93 Oh come now. It's at least close. I couldn't imagine a better villian in my book, rather than professor Moriarty. Although the joker appeared more often and gave more of his personality than the professor, which is why the joker still makes a bigger impression.

Seriously though, who is better than the joker? Name one.

  • @Hanato2 Darth Vader... that was too easy dude; to name one.

  • Mr. White from Breaking Bad :)

  • While techniquely he's not a "super-hero"(more of an anti-hero), mine would be Light Yagami from Death Note. Though L from the same show would be a close second.

  • @sonicman52 Indeed.

  • Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory. In the words of Leonard "One lab accident away from being a super villain"

  • Michael Scotfield from prison break that dude just scaped from 2 prisons and desmanteled a organization that had control over the goverment he is a geniuos
