Thanks for the review I wanted to get a book of shadows so I was considering this one since it's on sale. But Im disappointed that so many of the shades are neutrals. I guess with the whole Naked palette craze UD are releasing a lot of neutrals they may just lose me as a customer though because I loved their palettes with the bright colors. Im not a neutral girl.

Do they typically release the new colors separately after a while? I love some of the individual shadows (Cobra, Gravity and Bender in particular), but many of them I can't find sold on their own. I can't justify spending the $64, especially when I don't have a smartphone.

Why do you need a speaker and USB cable in a makeup palette? I'd rather watch a toutorial on a big computer screen than on a phone

I will skip this one like I skipped the 15th Anniversary palette. There are repeats and once again shimmer, shimmer and more shimmer. I say they make an entire palette dedicated to 16 MATTE neutral to bright shade palette.

Well for me they pretty messed up with the size of this palette, I LOVE my palets to fit perfectly one next to another...

i held out on book of shadows 3 for number 4 and I am now regretting that choice :( I won't be buying this as I just got my 15th anniversary palette and the naked palette. if only someplace still had the NY palette, I would totally pick that up. I feel there were too many neutrals after the release of some of the other palettes. I feel UD is releasing too much too quick and not really thinking about there choices from the consumer point of view. maybe next time. thanks for the review!!!

Pretty packaging but too many of the colors are either really similar to each other or other UD colors. Really, all of the bronze/gold/brown/taupes just make it feel like they stuck all the rejects from the Naked Palette into another palette and called it new.

@TheGossipPrincess1 if you have a iphone or a phone that can do videos, you can hook up the usb from your phone to the speaker and it plays videos on how to use the palete and you can also play your music or record videos on your phone to hook up to your computer :)

It just props the phone up so you can copy the look from the tutorial while doing your eyeshadow. It isn't meant to be a holder/carrier of the phone, lol. They apparently made video tutorials featuring this palette that you can access by scanning a code (provided in the palette) with your phone and the video will pull up on your phone's internet.

Palettes for older/mature women: BOS 1, UD 15 Anniversary, and the Naked Palette. This one appears to be a very good value, but UD is starting to put out palettes like MAC's makeup "collections." UD: slow down and build up some excitement before you bring the next one to us - and make sure you don't create chaos by purposely dragging your feet on the production end. This is a no from me. I want quality shadows not gadgets in place of quality makeup. And I for one would never take the time or initiative to connect my phone to the palette for the tutorials. I prefer my own creativity for looks. It's also waaayy too big and bulky and definitely too expensive. Thanks for the review.

I'm really bummed about this one! I have been collecting them every year but I think they really missed the mark especially for UD. Pretty boring standard colors from them this time and the ones that stood out the most don't have UD's usual buttery smooth texture. I like that this book of shadows has more neutral colours than usual, but also find it somehow less exciting because of that exact same reason. I recently purchased the 15 yr anniversary palette after much consideration so I think that will suffice for now ;) But there are a lot of colours from this palette I would wear. And the fact that it comes with so many other products is pretty cool... minus the whole USB thing, unless your a beginner with makeup that wouldn't be too useful.

Rather than that techno nonsense I would have rather that they included a 24/7 sh adow pencil or a cream blush or something.

I mean I applaud companies for being creative but surely Urban Decay have focus groups looking at their new products and do market research. So I don't know how this idea of adding in the USB attachment actually made it into the released product.

I think it would be too small to see the look being done on the screen of a phone, and I don't even have a phone capable of playing those make-up videos so it's useless to me! It is nice to see a mascara and liquid liner rather than the 24/7 pencils.

Love the video.. Kinda feel it's a "eh" kinda product.. Not impressed and not goin to buy.. I have the 15th bday one an I'm happy with it.. I feel the box of shadows are getting played out they all seem to look the same as in the colors that are in them... Not a fan of putting repromotes with similar shades they call new and stating it will be exclusive yet we see them in another just a few months down the line. Ya.. I'll pass.. imo, alot of the same colors, different name, same looking Book of Shadows packaging (boring!), USB? unnecessary. I already tried that mascara, didn't like it, took it back. I still got my professional size primer potion, don't need it! the only thing worth trying in there is the liquid liner.
