  • If your coil has a bite to it, there's too much 60 cycle component in the output. You have a lot of tuning to do. This is evidenced by how close you put the tubes, to get them to excite. If you were putting out a good resonant RF wave, the tubes would excite from a few feet away.... Good luck!!!

  • outstanding

  • dude ahhaha i was watching the colony and some engineer made a tesla coil from crap he found on the floor xD

  • Can you please make a video or something explaining how to build that stuff???

  • Yes Psychotronx1 I throw something together to address your questions. It will be simple; so don't get too excited. My Tesla is a bare bones "No Frills Tesla Coil", there are many others out there, that are much more advanced than mine.

  • Nice and cheap. Just imagine what would happen if you spent $17 and bought some aluminum tape and made a toroid for that tesla coil. That is a very good job.

  • The seven dollars I spent was on Aluminum Tape, (haven't gotten the primary tuned correct yet for a larger Toroid), at least I think that is the problem. I still have lots of tape left over and I am working on several Upright coils running off of old Bug Zapper transformers. They only put out 600 volts, so the discharge is a little weak, but still wicked cool. Thanks for watching.
