@hangshimkin I think she ruined the song. Not because of how it's not how I'm used to hearing it, but because it's just not good. She seems like she would be a good singer for... any other song. But her vocals were certainly not on point. And Carol Channing was not the first to sing it. In fact, Jane Russel was because they shot the court scene before the actual DaaGBF scene, but I'm not quite sure if that counts. Styne wrote this song for GPB and nothing else.
