  • Love this song! Brings back alot of memories..

  • Thanks for the upload but I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to put more info in the description such as year of release, album name, perhaps name of band members, and writer of lyrics. Also when band started, and current status or break up year, etc. I'd like to see these kind of details on all uploads to be honest. I'm just asking, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

  • Reminds of being back in college. Man she had a beautiful voice, and she was beautiful too. Miss ya Nicolette even though I never met you.

  • i always loved this song by mr young and her pretty voice

  • Why no more music like this? Because art is the reflection of life. Society had structure and restraint in those days. Nothing was a given. Artists had to prove they had something to even get a chance to get in the door. Now it's all vulgar self-indulgence and corporate factories churning out social pollution masquerading as art. Its because we as an indulgent society deserve what we get.

  • @Alexsia31 Damn--you nailed it! Vulgar self-indulgence.....amen.

  • looks like elaine benes

  • This is back in the day, when you could be a performer, sing a hit song, then run down to your local football field and play a few downs....

  • If not for her music playing on our car cassette player and the BBC, I would not have made the years I spent working in Saudi in late '70s and "80s. I do not know how many tapes we wore out! Her death ranked up there with the Doobie Brothers break. You do not know how remote we were to popular music & how it was years before we heard about changes. RIP and God bless sweet Nicolette.

  • This is back when making it in popular music required talent and being surrounded by talented musicians. Nicolette was good friends with the Doobie Brothers too.

  • I still can't believe Nicolette died ,,what a amazing talent ,,she was cool in high school in 1979 ,i loved her then and now

  • still can't believe this is actually a neil young song!!!

  • Bellisima cancion y la cantante tambien

yo era un bebé por entonces...no la recordaba muy bien ...pero que bien se escucha

    Gracias djr3065 por subirla

    Saludos desde Perú

  • 15 people had a lotta incest love.

  • she was great, i just love her voice, she left us way to soon, rip nicolette, you are missed very mush.

  • What did she die of?

  • @MrRazorblade999 she died of brain cancer. she left behind a daughter

  • Gone way to soon!

  • This is why Neil Young should've stuck to wrinting music instead of singing it, she does a better job at this song than Neil ever could.

  • RIP Songbird!!!!

  • Ótima cantora, acho que começou como backing vocals do neil young.

  • This song and Neil's...I always find myself coming back to it :')

  • I still get sad when I hear this and think of Nicolette Larson. Another angel in heaven.

  • I WAS YOUNG MY WHOLE LIFE WAS AHEAD OF ME, MY MOTHER WAS A GOD AND ALL IN THE UNIVERSE WAS WELL.

  • It's hare to believe that this is a Neil Young song. I wouldn't have pegged him for this song....

  • @wildturkey1960 Yes, I agree. IT IS hard to believe that the man people call The Godfather of Grunge would write this tune. I must say I'm impressed. Of course, It's hard to brlieve he was in a band that featured Rick James too.

  • @kja427 Indeed. That being said, the World is a colder place without Nicolette's warmth in it...

  • Straight to favorites ¡¡ Awesome talent ¡¡

  • Man, talk about memory lane when I hear this one. She has a nice scratch in her voice.

  • I find myself very attracted to Ms. Larson in this vid.

  • Yes there is just no mistaking the classics and this is definitely one of them.

  • Nicolette's cerebral edema (water on the brain) was caused by liver failure resulting in her having a seizure that was fatal. She had been using a lot of Tylenol which can cause liver damage and It's really too bad since she was a talented artist with a beautiful voice and striking face. This is one of my favorite 70's songs!

  • Comment removed

  • I miss the great music from the 70's and this song is near the top of my favorites..A tragic loss of a great artist. What was her cause of death?

  • @hsharrott It was great music and she died of cerebral edema; essentially water in the brain which can cause symptoms including the swelling of the brain and loss of blood flow if it goes untreated it often leads to death or disability unfortunately for Nicolette it was death.

  • Beautiful...a classic! Timeless!

  • wonderfull voice!!!!!!!!!! its a great song!!reminds me beautyfull times!!! i love it

  • Don't know how people can dislike a song like this, put its all one's point of view, guess this was my generation, great memorys.

  • she was so damn good. Miss you pretty lady.

  • Oh my dear... you filled my adolescent days with hope. Tony Moreno (John Travolta-Saturday Night fever) filled my dreams with ambition. So what, I was only 9 or 10, but that didn't concern me. Great times in life! Rest in peace my dear!

  • Whe was a beautiful lady. Was in high school when this came out. If I remember correctly, she passed away a few years. ago.

  • Love that Hair.

  • And there's a lotta hair ! :)

  • Great song written by Neil young..

  • she reminds me

  • When did it become so uncool to have a flute and saxophone solo in a song?

  • @jemhuff Don't worry my friend. As soon as someone figure out how to autotune a flute or sax then that is all you will hear in every new song put out.

  • @jemhuff the moment the 80's ended =(

  • @jemhuff Seems like Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) & Bruce Springsteen would be 2 sources to ask. Orchestral instruments add class and soul to all music. These kids today will grasp that someday.

  • @Wojo8888 Haa... Not holding my breath on that one...

  • @jemhuff Music sucks now It has no meaning.

  • @jemhuff When "music" was no longer made by humans playing real instruments and instead was produced almost purely by machines making synthesized sounds. It started going downhill in the 80s. What began in the early 80s as an interesting way to create new sounds and atmospheric feeling in music (such as in the song "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins) became a muddled pudding of drum machines and whining synths by the mid-80s. At same time rap and then hip-hop come along and the dagger falls.

  • @jemhuff I wish that I knew. They just don't make songs like this anymore...

  • @jemhuff heck by todays pop music standard its uncool to have guitar solos in a song! music today is just pure garbage!! give me these classic tunes anyday!!!!

  • "Nicolette". Sounds like a "Quit Smoking" product. I thought I knew pretty well about 70s music.Still wondering why I missed this piece of gem.

  • WTF IS WRONG WITH TODAYS MUSIC!!! THIS IS FUCKIN CLASSIC

  • @999MichaelMyers999 Back then, had real Music.

    Now, Don't.

    Simple. Sad but simple concept.

no point in whining about it because Music will never come back...

  • @999MichaelMyers999 You tell 'em! In my opinion, THIS rarity/gem is PROOF or CONFIRMATION that there IS NO MORE music (in the modern era)!

  • ESTTA CANZZIONNE LA OI EN LA SENORIAL LA S GIGANTTE DE GUATTEMALA LA MAQINNA DE LOS EXITTOS ,,,,,I LOVETT NICE SONG!!!BELLISSIMMA MARAVILLOSSA,,,MARVELLOUS!!!

  • I'll always love the 70's. Gas was just 50 cents a gallon...

  • Still a great song and good memories.

  • Hard to believe that this knock-out song was written by Neil Young!

  • Her first line says it ALL. Fellow human beings, it IS gonna take a LOT OF LOVE coupled with ACTION to change the way things are.

  • wow truly great.... miss her !!! :-(

  • Wow.. didnt know her hair was so long.. nice

  • Real music from an era of talented singer/songwriters. That flute is awesome.

  • But don't give me this crap about how life, health and people were better back then. That old mantra about how things were better gets really old. The 70's is a nice place to visit though. Browsing through old scrapbooks and photo albums is always a fun place to visit. Listening to old tunes is reminiscent of a more innocent time (a trip down memory lane) if you will. Living in the past is not healthy. whenever people recall the fun of the 70's it's always related to music, TV or movies.

  • @imbluz -Well i was there and it was like 50/50 ,in a nutshell more diverse, free, romantic and interesting for sure but (in my opinion)horribly, terribly, stinky, rotten corny,a much better time than today though...

-America was corny in 1978 but way cooler.

  • I just looked up the history of this song - I would had never guessed Neil Young wrote it! Sounds more like Phil Spector wall of sound stuff.

  • whwn i listen that song.i feel so relaxed

  • What a beautiful woman and song.

  • Esta musica é realmente linda com o Neil Young ou com a Nicolette Larson, simplesmente maravilhosa, uma das mais lindas que ouvi.

  • this song gives me chills- the power of the seventies, the music how far did it take us -this is one of the best songs ever

  • great aritst one of the greatest

  • This song makes we want to watch a good 70's porn.......

  • 14 katy perry fans watched this video

  • I would have easily fallen in love with her. She's so natural and free.

  • She's NICOLETTE not NICHOLETTA as shown at start of video. 14 people dislike this? They must be real idiots. How anyone can dislike a beautiful song such as this is beyond me.

  • Musically, there can be NO DOUBT that the Seventies music is superior to today's.And yes, I'm an old fart.Still true.

  • remember this song whenever i hear it i know its nicolette larson very sorry to hear shes gone she was the best ever great voice love the song

  • i'm 19 and i really think that i was born in the wrong decade...

  • I just love her at 2:15 when she looks at the guitarist, claps her hands and she has the biggest smile. RIP Nicolette.

  • Written by Neil Young of CSNY!!

  • I forgot. Wow!

  • Sinead O'Connor hit dislike 14 times.

  • One of THE BEST SONGS to come out of the '70s! And Nicolette had the voice of an angel. I remember this song playing on the radio when my sis and I were kids, and we'd go shopping or to the grandparents'. I liked the song then; I love it now!

  • what a beautiful song, no words to explain and a beautiful singer too, this is one of the best covers I have ever heard, really a lotta love.

  • I fucked to this song :D

  • lotta songs with "lot of" love in the title I had a hard time finding it or the artist. I remember this on the radio in the Buick Skylark when I was a kid when I was going on trips with the folks.

  • I forgot what she actually died of.

  • @dcareyHQvideos Liver vailure and cerebral edema...very sad...

  • Having grown up in the 70's the music was simply awesome. Nothing beats it. Its too bad the younger generation that hasn't explored it are truly missing out. I guess most people say that about the "music of their generation", but the 70's were truly special: talent, lyrics, beautiful women, thoughtful.....can't beat it.

  • OK Listen clearly: nickky is gone, my baby, my darling... Such a princess whomhas moved on.. In my heart you will never be forgotten! Alota Love for you...

  • quien tiene el video de la cancion de nicolette larson y michael mcdonald let me go love

  • beautiful ,beautiful ,beautiful song!!!

  • Iiked it but the video FREEZES

  • :43 and 1:24 her comedowns on the octives are perfect.

  • @compaq2441

    Thanks for the lessons.

Maybe these pretenders today can take lessons.

Instead of getting them digitally altered.

  • The power of music like this is mindblowing. The soulful energy from this awesome song is intoxicating.

  • "Gasha Ga-ooh Ga-ooh Ga-ooh

    Gasha Ga-ooh Ga-ooh Ga-ooh

    Gasha Ga-ooh Ga-ooh Ga-ooh

    Gasha Ga-ooh Ga-ooh Ga-ooh

    Gasha Ga-ooh Ga-ooh Ga-ooh

    I'm hooked on a feeling..."

I'm singing this from Blue Swede -- Hooked On A Feeling -- on top of this song. Sounds nifty

  • yazz flute

  • Oh yea, the seventies is my fave. decade for music. It was when rock n roll matures. This song sure brings back lots of wonderful memories. And it's true of the crap that goes on these days. It's shocking that stars can get away from lip-synching these days. Is this a reason why there're so little great singers that's worth listening to these days?

I recall when Disco was so hated during the 70s n early 80s. Looking back, those Disco singers can really sing - compare to those singers of today.

  • 15 people prefer autotune vocals

Saludos.

  • I've never seen this vid until now, although I've always loved this song. Nicollette Larson must have been a fan of Janis Joplin. Their styles and stage appearance are so similar. I believe that I've just seen what Janis Joplin's top hit of 1980 would have been if she hadn't died of a heroin overdose in October, 1970.

  • I <3 THIS SONG IT REMINDS ME OF MY MOM SHE USED TO PLAY IT LOL.. =)

  • 15 dislikes....... !5 people must be deaf and heartless...

  • @ThePamelaross What really happened to Nicolette?????

  • This is one of the best examples of late 70's music. A time when singers could actually sing. It's a fusion of rock and pop with just a dash of disco thrown in. As soon as I hear that first note I'm instantly taken back to 1978. It's sad she went so young, but here we are 33 years later still listening to this song. In my mind she'll always be young and beautiful.

  • @pinballshawn I thought this song came out earlier, like in 1973. Either way, fabulous song.

  • ♥ #Liberty ☼ #Libertad ♫ #Freiheit ♪

  • Another great Neil Young song...RIP Nicolette....

  • Decades ago, I did not recognize how beautiful she was in contrast to the more typical Hollywood-esque entertainment 'figure.' With maturity, I see the light. Her natural beauty is immensely more compelling than the overdone images of so very many.

  • this is real music!!! amazing!!! <3

  • RIP she sounded a lil like Stevie nicks in some parts of this song

  • she was fantastic..what a voice

  • buena interpretacion, con sentimiento, una cancion para escuchar en todo momento y lugar

  • RIP TO YOUNG WHEN THIS SONG WAS OUT BUT I LOVE IT

  • Beautiful woman, beautiful song. <3

R.I.P Nicolette. You deserved a longer life.

Maybe I might meet ya in heaven (:

  • too young...so beautiful.

  • I love this song, it's one of my favorites

  • disco favorite

  • Is that Carlos Santana playing the sax?

  • @Bort1965 That's a good one! Carlos Santana! AhahahahahaI think it's her husband. Either him or the flute player but I think it's the sax guy, Awesome Neil Young written song. Glad he gave it to her but his version is pretty good too, a little more feeling in it.

  • @Bort1965 no, that is not carlos santana, if this is a serious question, that was a guy named Andrew Love.....

  • Beyond the Epic rating.

  • I remember growing up around Nicolette. My father was in the band and played on this album. She was beautiful. We used to roller skate around Venice Beach and generally "hang out". She was genuine, loving, and fun. The fame never went to her head. Life in the late 70's and early 80's had no reality t.v. Life was reality. You didn't live through people like the Kardashians, J Lo...you know what I mean. Watching this video is the first time I've seen her since the 80's. She is missed.

  • @socal33

So true. There was no MTV and so you had to visualize a song in your head. Heck, you didn't even know what "visualizing" a song might mean. And the great thing about this video is that it is simply her singing.

  • @socal33

So true. There was no MTV and so you had to visualize a song in your head. Heck, you didn't even know what "visualizing" a song might mean. And the great thing about this video is that it is simply her singing. What a tribute this is.

  • @socal33 Thanks for sharing !.Nicolette was a real joy to be around & she brightened up the lives of those around her. I grew up with her peers being 64 And was familiar with most of the musicians that were recording music of many genres in the sixties through the 80's.I played Brass instruments[trumpet, coronet, baritone] If you watch the videos of Nicolette performing, you cannot help but notice the Love that those who played with her showed her through their interactions.

  • The seventies must have been awesome. Beautiful women like this who had soul and could actually sing. The majority of singers today need multiple effects and auto tune to make their voices sound good. It's fucking pathetic. I can't believe the shit that people listen to today. I'm glad there are people who recognize good music like this. It goes to show you how great of a song it is because it stood the test of time!

  • @MrGuitarandvocals I get sick of hearing people compare then with now. Admit it. You just miss where you were in those days.

  • @chariotdrvr14

I GET SICK OF PEOPLE FAILING TO REALIZE WHAT IS GOOD AND WHAT ISN'T.

I MISS ALL OF THE CLOSETS THAT I MASTURBATED IN

  • @MrGuitarandvocals : you're perfectly right, today's music is a shit & crappy.

  • @nesmartin89

    Thank you! lol

  • @MrGuitarandvocals

    SO TRUE !

They might be bubblegum today but the 70's ladies had to have pipe to sing.

Freakin' ey, these overly-produced chicks started by Janet Jackson can't even sing their own songs live.

Heaven forbid if they started as back-up singers .

  • @joeygonzo

The 70's and 80's ladies show the modern female singers how it's done!

  • @MrGuitarandvocals

What you may not understand is that THIS WAS the best part of the 70's! Most everything else sucked. Yea, the music was great and the women were talented and sexy as fuck. Radios sucked, there were hi-fi stereos. no mobile phones, IPAD's, etc. Now, if we can incorporate that old sound of music and the dedication to art people had into our realm, then we may have some saving grace. cRAP music and most all of pop today is dreadful noise that sends my stomach in pain.

  • @imbluz Really, I think all this information technology is part of the reason why people are losing soul and creativity. I'm 18 and I don't care about the latest technology, I don't have a cell phone and I don't really want one (I really don't like smartphones either), I dislike the fact that they're trying to make people do everything on a computer(s), and the only reason I have a netbook is because my sis gave it to me--which was very nice of her.

  • @imbluz (cont.) and I would love to live in the 70s. Yes, no decade is perfect, but from what I know and understand (and I have family who remember that decade very well, plus I do research and watch movies/documentaries/tv shows--and not just 'That 70s Show' either), I think I would have loved it, but for some reason, I was born in this generation, so I'll just have to live with that, I guess.

  • @imbluz (cont.) I would love to have lived in the 70s. From what I know (and I have close family who remember that decade very well, plus I do my own research from reading books and periodicals, old or new, and watch movies/documentaries/tv shows--and not just 'That 70s Show either), it seems like a pretty awsome decade. Yes, no decade is perfect, I understand that. For some reason, I was born in this generation, so I'll just have to live with it, I guess.

  • @RetroLaydeh42 I know what you mean I'm 19 and I never really wanted a facebook. I could never understand the point.

  • @MrGuitarandvocals I agree with you 100% There IS pure crap out ther nowadays..Hell, I don't understand how some of these acts get signed these days.

  • @melodicexp

You have great taste - thank you

  • @MrGuitarandvocals This is such a lovely song, and Nicolette is very pretty. I love this, I've always loved the 70s. It's a perfect song to listen to a night, it puts me in a different place, good different, heart and soul. I just don't see that heart and soul in newer stuff--so sad, but when I curl up and enjoy things like this, I forget all the trash and feel nice.

  • @RetroLaydeh42

yes it is - you have good taste!

  • @RetroLaydeh42 it is a good thing to read all of these comments about this song, the 70's, and about Nicolette.......your's is one of the best I've read on here in some time..........

  • @NAMDOG54 Thank You.

  • @Horrorfan309

You learned very quickly. I'm 34 and I totally agree. I'm thankful that I grew up in the 80's. Life was so good back then.
