  • the civic and the rsx will stay together until 4th gear, civic will start to pull on the type s becuace it's a longer gear.

  • @knyawthwe well im correct, just google it, or go to the Acura dealer website and you will see. and in no way did i say that the Si is faster than the RSX-S. i only corrected you on what horsepower and torque the k20z1 makes. besides, my civic would smoke both the Si and your RSX-S even if the RSX-S had Kpro and i/h/e. if i stood up for the Si motor, i would have gotten that motor swap instead of an RSX-S motor swap. both those cars are still a drivers race though.

  • @knyawthwe um i said i have an RSX-S motor swap. its a 200hp 142tq k20a2 in my 2000 civic coupe which is 3-400lbs lighter than an RSX-S. yes, if all you have is a cold air intake, then my car will rape yours. and the new Si. bolt on RSX's and Si's dont even beat me. they are 15 sec cars when im beating 13.5 sec cars.

  • Mine wasn't stock and I'm not sure what was done to it. I bought it from CarMax. I know it had a catback exhaust system and I'm pretty sure it was chipped. I only ran premium unleaded in it and it would almost tie a 2001 SVT Cobra.

  • it's too bad they stopped making the rsx back in 06.. ever since then, honda has been tuning their k20 engine on the Civic only. they've improved on slight stuff, such as changing the design on the intake manifold.

  • @stuna101a really? i had a 2006 ex. it was nice inside but with the single cam, it wasnt to my expectations. but it was so smooth! and the clutch was just... perfect... plus the woofer. very comf. i traded it for a 06 rsx and the rsx is built more for a racer. shudda got the si tho

    I have an Si....and I believe a stock dc5 should take a stock si down by .1 to .2 of a sec.

    Nope, I thought that as well too though. It's the Si that is heavier. Because I didn't wanna be biased, I looked at the stats for both ther Si and the RSX Type S:

    Si:

    0-60: 7.2 seconds, although Honda claims it's 6.7.

    1/4-mile: 15.1 @ 94 mph.

    RSX Type S:

    0-60 mph: 6.2 seconds

    1/4-mile: 14.9 @ 95 mph.

    You are correct. K20Z1's were in the 05+ RSX Type S's rated @ 210 hp @ 7800 RPM. But I mean, 10 hp difference doesn't really feel any different behind the wheel.

    K20A2 was 200 hp @ 7400 rpm. Both engines had the Vtec kick at 5800 rpm too.

  • @y0h3s the 06+ civic is heavier than the 05-06 RSX-S by like 50lbs, and heavier than the 02-04 RSX-S by around 90lbs or more. the acura website no longer shows the 02-04 models, so i dont know their weight anymore.

    06+Si: k20z3- 197hp 139tq

    02-04 RSX-S: k20a2- 200hp 142tq

    05-06 RSX-S:  k20z1- 201hp 140tq

    i know the other guy basically answered, i just thought id add a couple things. but i have a k20a2 swapped in my civic. id rather have more 2 more torque than gain 1 HP. lol

    I'm trying to re-build an EM2 Civic (junk after my friend blowing up the motor), and swap in the K20...wonder which K20 would be easiest to obtain...

  • @BlazinChikn23 yeah, we have the same car basically, except mine is labled as a EJ8. but it looks just like the EM1 minus the fact that its silver. you can see it in one of my videos, and my background pic which is my old front lip. now i have an OEM Si lip. but yeah. its basically just a stock motor, and ive beaten b18c1 swapped civics, including my friends 93 hatch. oh, BTW, the k20z1 isnt really 210hp. its 201hp SAE corrected. whats the B18C4 come from? you in another country?

  • @joescivic haha. im answering my own question. you're from Canada as i see on your channel. but when i said i beat my friends B18c1 93 hatch, i slowly walked it. those motors are still good though, especially if you're really light like his car. he now has a boosted Integra GSr with a JDM front end, so i cant rematch him =(

    K20Z1 I looked up on wikipedia, according to what they said. EJ8's and Em1's are the same as you said..I just don't know why they would label it differently. the B18C4's come from the UK and AUS Civic 1.8 VTi's. I had it ordered from England. Paid $1,400 for it. Not bad, but the car is pretty slow. 169 hp. If ever you're in Toronto, let me know lol I'd like to see how I would do against a K20A2. I'm looking at changing my head to B16a..

  • @BlazinChikn23 yeah, wikipedia aint always the best. its not updated,or entirely true. i still use it at times since some things are correct though. hah. but the EJ8 comes with a d16y8 singlecam motor, black side skirts instead of paint matched ones, no front lip like the EM1 (but i think you could have had the dealership put one on for you), very slightly different seats, and different guauge cluster. plus. EM1 only came in 99-00. EJ8 or als EJ7 came from 96-00. EM1 also come blue black and red

  • @BlazinChikn23 god i hate character counts. lol. another thing, since mine is an EX, its EJ8. in Canada the Si is the EX here, so that would be your EJ8. what you have is the SiR. i know, the reasons they changed chassis codes is dumb if you ask me. making you Si the EX here, and our Si here is your SiR. lol. you should get rid of that motor you have, and pick up this k24a2 for $1600. located in texas. 200hp 166tq. you'll love a K. but im sure theres people there you can challenge with a K-swap

  • @BlazinChikn23 oh nooooo. it will still be 200hp. you can build the k24 to be all motor with over 300hp and still have 200+tq. cams kind of kill the torque you get. for example, theres a guy with an EM1 (k2499si in my favorites) with a k24a2, and he has 217hp 182tq. another video of a guy with 230hp 190tq. so yeah, to cam it afterwards, and everything else to get 100+hp but only like 20-30 more torque kind of sucks, but it will stil be a beast. im sure i would lose to a stock k24a2 swapped EJ8

  • Not always. I live in upstate NY. It hardly gets above 80 in the summer and drops as low as -30 in the winter. SRI's are awesome in cold areas.
